Stop At: Palace of Versailles, Versailles, Yvelines, Ile-de-France
Arriving from Paris in a comfortable private bus, accompanied by your expert guide, you’ll strut past the lines outside the Palace of Versailles in true royal fashion. As your guide shows you around a carefully curated selection of the palace’s 700 rooms, you’ll hear stories of the Sun King, Louis XIV, his successors, their queens, mistresses, and courtiers including Marie Antoinette and other notable figures. Versailles had its heyday in the 17th and 18th centuries, when the Sun King elevated Louis XIII’s humble hunting lodge into the official seat of the French court and 300 years later, the palace has lost little of its glamorous excess.
The Gardens of the Palace of Versailles were designed by master gardener Andr□ Le N tre and court painter Charles le Brun, not as a respite from the palace, but as an extension of it with every bit as much opulence (and intrigue) as the interior. Depending on the day, your tour of the Gardens may include the Musical Fountain Show (where fountains dance in perfect time to classical music) or Musical Gardens (where music accompanies your tour through the idyllic glades). Even if not, with your guide’s help, you’ll discover fountains, statues and secret groves scattered throughout the vast French formal estate.
Following the guided tour, you’ll have a free hour to revisit the most captivating sights or find new ones just for yourself. Surrounded by luxury, the only hardship is deciding how to follow an experience this spectacular.

Our guide was fantastic was very knowledgeable on the history of Versailles and very personalable. The bus driver could have been more personable and helpful. We stopped for a bit due to the protest, he spoke to the police in French but didn't communicate with the passengers as to what was going on, he pulled the bus over went for a smoke leaving us on the bus wondering what we should do. His behavior was just odd.

Sad, when we got there there was no headphones for us to do the tour.. we had to wait out in the could for like 30min then the tour guide finally said we had to start the tour without headphones.. is crazy because with the amount of people inside is impossible for a group of 22 people to hear someone talking inside is was very difficult to collect information.. Victoria the tour guide did what she could I guess.. city of Wanders was not ready with our stuff. The tour was very fast and not enough time to do much

I would say pass on this one. The house is ok but the tour is brutally dry. Really needed some humor was just fact over fact and the place was so packed it was not a good time. The garden is really cool. Probably because we went off on our own without a guide. The guide was nice and knew a ton but boring so boring. For the rest of our trip when we had would you rathers this was an option like would you rather spend 1 hour in the metro bathroom or 3 days straight do the Versailles tour.

Palace and gardens were beautiful as expected, but Adam, our tour guide, made Versailles come alive!

The tour was a nice addition to our trip, bus was clean and punctual our guide Lucia was very knowledgeable and courteous, very cordial and took good care of us. Enjoyed the experience wry much

Contrary to the title of the tour, you will still have to wait in line for the timed entrance to the palace. We had tickets for a 10:45 entrance and did not get into the palace until 11:10. Numerous other tour groups had tickets for the same time and some were even allowed entry with a 10:50 time before our group.

We were never picked up for our visit to Versaille. Upon calling Viatore about this, we discovered they are just middlemen and basically have nothing to do with any problems a tour might incure. The real tour operator, City Wonders, would give us credit for the tour but recharge an additional 20%. My suggestion is to book all tours through your hotel concierge, price is the same and no problems.

Highly recommend! Tour was excellent. Guide was very well informed about Versailles and was entertaining as well. Flawless from start to finish with comfortable transportation to and from the venue.
