產品介紹
Begin your historic walk through WWII in the Marais, a Jewish quarter that was heavily affected by the German invasion. Listen to dramatic stories of life under Nazi rule that included food rationing, round-ups and deportations, as well as local heroes who bravely risked their lives to protect the persecuted.
Stop at the Holocaust memorial to learn more about the plight of the Jewish community before crossing the bridges of the Seine to Notre Dame Cathedral. In front of this iconic church you’ll discover the French Resistance fighters and see the first building they overtook to begin the historic Liberation of Paris. Your guide will point out all the WWII details that hide in plain sight including damage still visible today on the buildings of the area, from both German and French artillery.
You’ll discuss the dramatic true story of how Hitler demanded that Paris be destroyed, and how the fate of the city rested in the hands of just one man. You’ll stop in the sprawling courtyards of the Louvre to hear intriguing tales of how the Monuments Men saved countless works of art. You’ll pass through the Tuileries Gardens to see the luxury hotel that was once Nazi headquarters. You’ll finish your historic exploration at Place de la Concorde where the final battle for Paris unraveled.
This small group walking tour is the perfect way to discover the forgotten secrets of one of the most dramatic war events in history, set to the backdrop of the most beautiful city in the world.行程概要出發地點
