Meet your guide at the Catacombs of Paris, skip the entrance line and head straight inside to explore the mysterious underground ossuary. The catacombs may not be for the faint of heart, but they are certainly worth the visit.
Descend 130 steps to the subterranean cemetery and begin exploring the labyrinth of passageways, filled with curious nooks and crannies. Hear about the history of the catacombs from your knowledgeable guide ─ once stone mines, the network of tunnels were developed into a vast burial tomb in the 18th century after Paris' cemeteries became overcrowded. Today they are home to the remains of approximately six million people.
Wander along winding tunnels lined floor-to-roof with the skulls and bones of the dead. Listen as your guide relays some of the stories relating to this historic burial ground, and soak up the catacombs’ otherworldly atmosphere.

Tour guide was very good. We had a group of 12 which made it easier to here the guide as went through the Catacombs.

It was worth paying extra to skip the very long line, plus have an English-speaking guide. The signs in the Catacombs were all in French, so we would have had no idea what was happening. The guide was great, told important historical information, as well as great stories!

We only bought this so we could skip the line. We did not skip the line, we waited an hour to enter, and many people from the line entered before us. Our tour guides were late, the Catacombs refused to honor our reservations unless the tour guides arrived. When they finally did, they were unable to provide the Spanish speaking tour three guests had paid for. When we finally got in, a group of about 30 small children were behind us, so we could not hear the tour guide at all. We abandoned the tour and explored on our own. If I would have known we'd have to wait over an hour anyway, I would have saved 80 and just stood in line. Waste of money.

The catacombs were one of our more interesting experiences in Paris. My teenage son loved this tour as an alternative to museums and cathedrals. It was a nice change of pace and a unique part of Paris history in its own right. The tour guides were very sensitive to the needs of the group and offered lots of insights and personal impressions. Skip the line is highly recommended given the summer tourist crowds.

First of all, based on the line that I saw wrapping around the block, getting the 'skip the line' was the best move for seeing this attraction. It was a little misleading at first because I didn't see anyone with the yellow umbrella, so I ended up walking all the way around the line and coming back to the entrance before noticing that one of the people near the entrance had one of those small yellow umbrellas at their side not opened. Sure enough, when I went up to them, they were the tour guide. A quick scan of my confirmation got us on board. When we were still a few folks short, he did open up the umbrella and walk through the line to make sure no one from the tour was back there waiting. Once we got underway, our guide did a great job with the tour. The size was about 10-12, so it wasn't too difficult to stay in a small group and hear everything he was saying. He was quite knowledgeable, which made for a very fulfilling tour. There was a lot of history there I just didn't know, and it was great to learn it, especially with such an eerie backdrop. Would definitely recommend.

This was a very good tour. Our guide was very knowledgeable and fun to have on the walk. Saw a lot of people go by themselves without a guide and they surely missed all the stories our guide had to tell

The tour guide and tour itself were well worth it. I was however disappointed that I paid for a small group tour which was supposed to only include 9 people we had around 15 in our group. The extra people made it more difficult to hear and see items on the tour.
