    Head to Le Grand Rex (Grand Rex Cinema) in central Paris for your 50-minute self-guided walking tour of the cinema. As you’re directed from room to room via the audio commentary overhead ─ offered in several languages throughout the day ─ you’ll learn about the cinema’s fascinating history and cultural significance.

    With 2,800 seats, Le Grand Rex is the biggest cinema in Paris and one of the largest in all of Europe. It has been used for some of the world's most renowned cinema screenings, concerts, comedians, events and conventions. In 1981, it was declared by the French government as a national monument.

    Begin inside a transparent and panoramic elevator that will take you behind the gigantic screen of the Grand Rex, the grand large ─ the largest screen in Europe! Discover a recreated projection room, see archive images, learn about the numerous special effects and tricks used in films, and enter into the Director’s office to see where the creative magic is first concocted.

    As you explore, admire the American-inspired atmosphere, the starred ‘sky’ overhead and the signature Art Deco architecture, as seen in the impressive interior d□cor, roofs and faades. You'll learn about the cinema’s origins all the way through to today, including its darker times, like when it was used as a Soldatenkino (soldiers' cinema) during the German occupation.

    At the end of the tour, be the voiceover for a famous Hollywood star in a film clip that you'll then see projected in a private screening room!

    It's even better that we expected!!!

    This tour was cheesy. We thought we'd get to see the inside of the theater. It seemed like it was geared more toward kids than adults. As a film buff, this tour is not going to get you very excited.
