When your ship docks in Bordeaux, a small-group shore excursion is the best way to see this famed city, known for its well-preserved 18th-century buildings and its wonderful wine-producing region. With a wine tasting and a tour of St Emilion, another World Heritage Site, this shore excursion makes for a fabulous day in port in France.
Your private shore excursion tour begins with a panoramic tour of the city of Bordeaux. During this tour, you’ll get a nice overview of the city and see many famous attractions of Bordeaux including the Grand Theatre, St Andrew's Cathedral, Place des Quinconces and Pey Berland tower.
Next you will travel to the charming village of St Emilion, full of Romanesque architecture. Not only is it one of the most picturesque villages in France, it's also one of the principal red wine areas of the Bordeaux wine region. In St Emilion, enjoy a 45-minute walking tour and then explore this sleepy town on your own during your free time. You can grab some lunch, admire the narrow streets full of historic World Heritage-designated buildings or enjoy some retail therapy in the local shops.
You will then depart St Emilion and travel to a nearby wine estate, where you will enjoy a wine tasting in a Grand Cru Class□ chateau. You will be introduced to the art and techniques involved in the wine-making process and taken on a tour of the vat house and the cellars.

A well planned and executed tour. We were met at the ship, no problems. Our driver was very knowledgeable, friendly and a great communicator. I would suggest that you maximize your time in St-Emilion by sampling wine from several of the merchants. These samples are free. A great opportunity to get outside the port area of Bordeaux.

we booked as private tour so everything worked out fine.

I felt we didn't see enough of Bordeaux but hurried to St. Emilion. We were not told our plans for the day. Went to a wine tasting at a store in St. Emilion which we were not interested in but we did enjoy the winery he took us too.
