Leave your central Avignon hotel by air-conditioned coach and head to Les Baux de Provence a charming medieval town perched on a rocky hill high above the Provence countryside. After stopping for a walk around, continue by minivan to an olive oil mill, to see where Provence’s Appellation d'Origine Control□e (AOC) olive oils are made. Produced under strict governance that guarantees their quality and low acidity, the oils are known for their fruity flavor. Sample a selection of these prestigious olive oils after touring the mill.
Continue by minivan to the foot of the Cha ne des Alpilles mountain range to visit a famous wine estate. Organic and biodynamic wines account for nearly 85 percent of the region’s wine production, and you’ll taste several of these wines here. While exploring the vineyards, learn how Les Baux wines are defined by Provence’s multi-faceted soils.
After a break for lunch in Les Baux de Provence (own expense), meet your guide and head west to the Roman city of Nimes by minivan. A jewel of the Roman Empire, Nimes boasts a collection of intact monuments from the 4th century BC, all dotted around its pedestrianized town center. While listening to an audio guide, explore the beautifully preserved Roman amphitheater used as a setting in the film Gladiator and visit Maison Carr□e, a temple dedicated to Emperor Augustus.
Next, visit the medieval market town of Uz□s. The first duchy (settlement ruled by a duke or duchess) of France, this pretty little town has preserved its layout as a medieval stronghold. Enjoy some free time in Uzes to wander round the town. Pass architectural highlights like the Fenestrelle Tower, Place aux Herbes (the main square) and Uz□s Cathedral. Then return to Avignon, stopping for a look at Pont du Gard a UNESCO World Heritage listed-Roman aqueduct that once supplied water to Nimes. Your tour finishes back at your hotel.行程概要出發地點

This tour was wonderful. Our guide Emmanuel was very knowledgeable of the region and gave wonderful insights to all the sites we visited.

Violet, our tour guide made the trip fun. The selection of cities and locations was great for experiencing the south of France. Having the guide drop us off right in front of the old villages, while others had to park and walk from long distances was a great part of taking this tour.

We thought the tour was quite good. The one improvement that could be made, is to have the stops guided by the driver. We had Carole who was incredibly knowledgable. She gave us lots of background information while driving but it would have been better while actually touring the sites.

A nice trip, but I'd suggest to make it different. I think it should start by visiting Nimes and Uzes Nimes is one of the most charming cities I've ever been to, and to finish in the olive and wine tasting. The tasting was good, but at 9 o clock in the morning, it was a little bit weird

really fun...and long day! I wish we had more time to swim at Pont Du Gard. The tour guide gives a little history on each place and basically just lets you roam around for a while. Nice!

This was a very good tour of the top sites in the area, the aqueduct was breathtaking. And the time atLes Bauxite, Nimes, and Uzes was about right. However, two complaints about the tour guide: her focus on two passengers in the front of the van answering there many questions off- line versus the group in the van and her apparent unawareness of the need for nature breaks on a very hot day when water consumption is needed. I found my own stops of necessity.

One of our best trips.
The fascinating village of Les Baux perched on a steep mountain side was a highlight, fully supported by the wine and olive oil producers we visited.
In the afternoon, the Roman and mediaeval remains of Nimes were well worth visiting, though I found the Arena a bit underwhelming. The well-preserved mediaval town of Uz□s was fascinating to explore. A pity the Pont du Gard was right at the end, when we we were somewhat weary - but it was nevertheless a real highlight.

Tour was full so they put me on two half day tours which was disappointing. Morning was good, afternoon was ok.
