Admire the architecture of New Zealand’s Parliament buildings, including the unusual design of the Beehive (aka Executive Wing) and the neoclassical Parliament House. Then have time to stop and walk around Old St Paul’s Church, which was constructed entirely out of native timber and is considered one of the finest heritage-listed buildings in New Zealand.
Disembark at the Wellington Botanic Garden, which features both native and non-native species on a gorgeous 62-acre (25 hectare) property. Your guide shows you the Begonia House and Lady Norwood Rose Garden where formal gardens showcase more than 3,000 roses.
Have the option to hop on Wellington’s famous red cable car (at own expense) for the 5-minute ride from the botanic gardens down to the city center, enjoying great views and an iconic Wellington experience.
Soak in the scenery as your coach climbs to the summit of Mt Victoria. From the lookout, enjoy panoramic city views and a bird’s-eye perspective of the rolling hills and rugged bays that surround Wellington. As you head back to the coast and pass through picturesque suburbs such as Oriental Parade, Seatoun and Thorndon, hear stories about historic shipwrecks off the South Coast and take in the vibrant atmosphere of the Wellington waterfront.

This was the best organised tour thanks to your company. Due to weather conditions our ship had to change course and all our timings were out. I was concerned that we would miss out, but no, Viator was totally up to date and notified us in plenty of time. We were picked up at the wharf and returned in time to board our ship. Wonderful driver, he had a great knowledge of Wellington and his co driver was also very pleasant and helpful. Don't hesitate with this company. Thank you so much for a wonderful trip.

The driver dropped us to take the cable car and then would meet us at the top...as we approached the bus she started to drive off...we ran to catch up. At the second stop we were there at the correct time and she drove off again! At another site she didn’t stop because she was pressed for time. And on and on it went...

Our guide was very pleasant but this was a large bus and a cruise ship had just come into port, complete full. It felt like it took a long time to get everyone on and off the bus and only 15 minutes at each stop so I feel like we didn't really see that much. We could not go up to Mt. Victoria as it was closed for a car rally. If you want a really quick overview, perhaps this is the tour for you but with hindsight, I would rather have gone on a more in depth tour with fewer people. Our driver and guide was knowledgeable and did his best to make this tour enjoyable for everyone.

We landed a great driver who was very engaging and willing to answer our questions. We saw quite a few things around the city which were historical and interesting. Stopped at a beautiful Anglican Church which in itself was worth the whole trip.

Really enjoyed my recent Wellington City Tour - our driver made sure we arrived at the various places of interest at different times to the tours organised by our cruise ship, so no crowds to contend with. Commentary was interesting, bus was very comfortable and having fine weather that day certainly added to the experience.

Had a great local guide who took us all over. He went out of his way to make sure we saw as much as possible, along with entertaining commentary.
