We welcome you aboard our luxury 43 foot Lochin sports cruiser for a day of action chasing yellow tail kingfish! The vessel has all the comforts one would expect. The skipper will get you on top of packs of hungry, hard fighting kingfish so that you can do battle with these mighty fish as our expert crew guide you to land that fish of a lifetime! We promote fishing for tomorrow by restricting the "takeable catch" to 1 per person providing they will be consumed.
The fishing grounds are located about an hour and a half away from Tauranga where the deep sea gives way to reefs and pinnacles that hold the predatory kingfish. These fish are well known for fighting dirty by trying to get to the reef where they try to cut the line - your goal is to crank the handle and gain enough line back so you can confidentially control the fight. This area has provided fish up to 40kg, this is somewhat rare - but you just never know until it is landed! 15-20kg is very common and some days over 50 fish are released when the fishing is that hot!
It is not uncommon to also catch many other species as a bi-catch when targeting Kingfish that are found in this prolific ocean such as Snapper, Kahawai, Trevally, and even deep sea wreck species such as Blue nose, Hapuka, Red Snapper, Gem and Ruby fish.
