Your first stop is Cupcakes on Pitt. The professional pastry chefs at this family-owned business have been creating fanciful handcrafted cupcakes for more than 20 years. Sample some of their favorite creations for your first tasting, then continue to the Pitt Street Mall. Pop into Cupcake Bakery, one of the many bustling boutiques on this famous pedestrian street, where flavors such as apple caramel crumble, choc-vanilla and tiramisu tempt.
Nearby, pay a visit to Ladur□e, a 150-year-old Paris-based company that features the fine French cookies known as macarons. A dollop of buttercream or ganache smashed between two brightly colored meringue cookies make for a delectable bite-size treat.
Down the street, stroll into a lovely Victorian-era shopping mall called the Strand Arcade to go to Bon Bon. Here, taste exceptional handmade European chocolates and nougat made from the owner’s own recipe.
Next, head to The Rocks Markets, an outdoor affair located in the historic neighborhood where Sydney began. Nibble tiny cupcake masterpieces made by Mini Monet Cupcakes. Then wrap up your walking tour with a visit to Sticky, a specilaty boutique with an eye-popping array of housemade hard candies, lollipops, and jellies. Watch the confectioners at work as they create artful candies before your eyes.
