Depart Strahan and pass by Hells Gates, a narrow opening where the Southern Ocean meets Macquarie Harbour. As you take in the small gap─just 240 feet (80 meters)─it’s not hard to see how it got its ominous name from early sailors. Then head across the harbour, passing fish farms and then making your way to the lower reaches of the Gordon River as you cruise quietly under the power of Spirit of the Wild's unique hybrid propulsion system. Take in views of the ancient rainforest landscape of the Tasmanian Wilderness World Heritage Area.
Disembark at Heritage Landing for a walk through the forest to see a variety of trees, including leatherwoods and a unique species of pine. Stroll down a raised boardwalk, and arrive at a 2,000-year-old Huon pine that fell to the ground but still grows saplings.
Then visit Sarah Island, a former penal colony from the 1820s and 1830s, and watch a theatrical presentation to learn about its history, including how the island was once an important Australian shipyard, where the boats were built by convicts.
When you’re on board the boat, you are welcome to visit the deck for fresh air and views, or admire the display of photos and maps. Enjoy lunch according to your tour option selected. Your cruise ends with return to Strahan.行程概要出發地點

Everything about this experience was top class. From the moment we arrived at the terminal to journey's end the staff were fantastic. The entire world should be grateful to the comparatively few people who fought to save this beautiful part of Tasmania.

Fantastic scenery. Informative crew, great buffet and loved the catamaran.Only negative would be that we didn’t need to upgrade to the more expensive window seats as you were able to walk around and stand on the upper decks.

We enjoyed a fabulous trip on the Gordon River. The weather was perfect, which made a big difference I suspect. It was the highlight of our trip to Tasmania. Well worth going.

A very relaxing ,comfortable trip. Amazing experience with good information.Weather was perfect on day we travelled. The lunch was delicious with a good selection.The Sarah Is segment was a real history of our past.

Treat yourself to the Captains level experience...definitely worth the money. Nearly 6 hours of uninterrupted entertainment with seat side service, food buffet and commentary. The scenery is amazing and the private outside are at the front a definite bonus. Guided tour of Sarah Island informative and about the right length of time. The catamaran is very comfy and glides across the tannin water. Not much wildlife to be seen but the rugged unspoilt wilderness is to be treasured. Trip through Hells gate demonstrated clearly the differenc between the bay and the ocean and the difficulties facing the original settlers. Fascinating day.

Great way to see Sarah Island and hear all the history of the convicts there. Terrific tour guides. Beautiful trip up the Gordon River with delicious lunch.
