A Mercedes Benz arrives at your Melbourne hotel to take you on a luxurious 1-hour drive to the Mornington Peninsula for a one-of-a-kind private tour. Your local guide takes you to meet the wine growers, artisans and producers of the region. The tour is limited to eight people to ensure a personalized experience.
Sip house-roasted coffee in an olive grove as you learn about the art of brining and marinating on a working farm in the lovely hinterland. Spot chickens, sheep, and ducks as you receive rare insights into life on the Peninsula.
Next, travel to the well known Bass & Flinders Distillery and discover the traditional pot still method and double distillation. Taste brandy, gin, fortified wine and brandied fruits (Saturday and Sunday only).
Next, arrive at a renowned Red Hill winery for a private barrel tasting with a winemaker. Pick the expert’s brain on the winemaking process as you revel in some of the region’s best vino. After the tasting, settle in for a multi-course lunch at Max's at Red Hill Estate. Taste small dishes that incorporate the best seasonal local produce. Fine wines pair well with the restaurant's scenic views of the surrounding vineyards, Phillip Island and Western Port Bay.
Save room for an afternoon of freshly made cheese and chocolate. Visit Main Ridge Dairy the only large commercial dairy on the peninsula to witness the cheese-making process and nibble on high-quality varieties. Afterward, meet award-winning chocolatiers and indulge in handmade sweets.
