After pickup from your selected meeting point in Melbourne, your day trip starts with the approximate 1-hour drive to the Yarra Valley. Throughout the day, you’ll be accompanied by your guide, a wine expert who will entertain and educate you about the varietals that grow in this renowned wine region.
Stop at your first winery, Steels Gate Wines is a boutique winery situated in a picturesque hillside setting at Dixons Creek. Their range of wines are all estate grown and estate made offering finesse and exceptional flavour. Enjoy the relaxed atmosphere which makes this the perfect place to experience delicious wines while absorbing the serenity of the Yarra Valley
Continue your day trip to your second winery, Balgownie Estate, a small vineyard famed for its cabernet sauvignon and shiraz varieties. Spend your first 30 minutes here at the tasting table, and then head into the winery restaurant for lunch, which includes a glass of wine and tea or coffee. While you eat, enjoy great views of the vineyard.
Next, head to Yering Farm, a rustic winery whose cellar door is housed in a converted hay shed situated on top of a hill. Admire the antique copper tools used by pioneer winemakers more than 100 years ago while you sample the wines and before making your way to your last winery of the day, to the French champagne company Moet and Chandon's Australian production house. Take a private guided tour of the winery to see how sparkling wine is made, and then relax with a glass of bubbly while you marvel at the gorgeous vineyard views.
Your day trip ends with the return drive to Melbourne, where you are dropped off at your original pickup point.

Beautiful scenery with plenty of good wine, delicious lunch in a nice restaurant, good service, interesting and knowledgeable guide.

Had a great time. Very good wine tasting tips provided. Lots of general information about the wineries and how the wine is produced

Driver was very knowledgeable not only about the wines but the area and local history as well. Small group worked well, plus the opportunity to talk with travellers from 6 or 7 other countries

Overall a great tour but our guide just made us feel a bit rushed. He did a lot of talking and then wouldn’t give us a ton of time to just enjoy the wineries. Felt a bit judged being the last ones back on the bus (and we weren’t late!)

Everything ran like clockwork. The driver stuck to a schedule which allowed us to view four wineries. Great bunch of people on the tour; very friendly; mixed well. Developed a greater appreciation for "boutique/ family run wineries."

Nice day out with some lovely tastings. Friendly guide. Chandon was great. 4 wineries with cider tasting too made for a nice day. Souma lunch very tasty.

Tour was quite quick from winery to winery. Not enough time to appreciate views or photo taking from place to place. Lots of different of wines to taste in each winery. A tour worth it for any wine lovers who just only want to taste fine wines from the Yarra valley region.

The excursion was definitely worth it. Each vineyards had their own unique wines and a couple of them being smaller vineyards had their winemakers available and was able to answer questions that I had. After learning that I’m a WSET diploma student, the winemakers were very friendly and offered some very unique insights. Also got a perk from one vineyard with an additional free tasting panel! The driver/tour guide is also very friendly and knowledgeable about both wine and the industry. The lunch was delicious as well.
