Itinerary
This is a typical itinerary for this product
Stop At: Anglesea Visitor Information Centre, Anglesea, Victoria
Once we have left Melbourne, we head down to the Surf Coast, passing through gorgeous seaside townships such as Anglesea, Lorne and Airey’s Inlet, we stop along the way for some morning tea and to breath in the fresh sea air whilst spotting surfers out on the water, with the proximity to Antarctica you will learn why this is great surf but also why wet suits are a necessity!
Duration: 30 minutes
Stop At: Great Ocean Road Memorial Archway, Lorne, Victoria
A monument to mark the original starting point of the Great Ocean Road.
After some photos at the iconic Memorial Arch and a lesson on the history of the soldiers who built this road and dedicated it to their fallen comrades, we will wind through more stunning views (of course stopping for pictures!)
Duration: 30 minutes
Stop At: Apollo Bay Information Centre
A welcome lunch break is taken in Apollo Bay at the end of the surf coast, with your choice from a large menu at a local cafe being freshly prepared for you. The cafe we visit can cater for a wide range of diet requirements, so if you are Veggie, Vegan, Gluten free, Jain, Dairy free, Lactose Intolerant, or even just a little fussy we have you covered but please do advise any requirements at the time of booking so we are prepared!
*Note for tours departing from 1st April 2019 and beyond lunch will not be included in your tour price. We will offer you the opportunity to pre-purchase your lunch at a special price with our partner cafe or you may wish to find your own lunch at the many food outlets available in Apollo Bay (45mins Lunch Break)
Once you have explored Apollo Bay, grabbed any souvenirs you wish to buy, or tasted some delicious ice cream then it is back on the bus to head inland to the Green Coast.

Stop At: Great Otway National Park
till on the Great ocean Road but now continuing up into the lush green Otway’s we drive through towering Eucalyptus trees until we arrive at a patch of Cool Temperate Rainforest. You will be amazed at the difference in scenery as we take a walk through the tree ferns and, marvel at the ‘ancient relics’ the Myrtle Beach trees that provide perfect canopy shade and originate from when Australia was part of a super continent known as Gondwanaland. Breath in the fresh air before we take a relaxing drive out to the dramatic Shipwreck Coast!

Stop At: Twelve Apostles, Princetown, Victoria
Once out of the trees and back by the Southern Ocean we arrive in Port Campbell National Park, home to the iconic 12 Apostles. We will spend about 40mins at the Apostles where you will enjoy free time to take in the views from every angle, walk along the boardwalks, and get the perfect pictures of this wild and rugged coastline.

Stop At: Loch Ard Gorge, Port Campbell, Victoria
Also in the National Park we head down to Loch Ard Gorge, site of one of Australia’s most well know shipwrecks, hear the dramatic tale of Tom and Eva and then head down to the beach to look for the caves. This is also where you will find rock formations such as Island Archway, Razorback and the ‘Salt and Pepper Shakers’ too.

Stop At: WWI Memorial
After a full day of exploring we say goodbye to the Great Ocean Road and turn back inland to drive back to Melbourne via country roads. We pass through farmlands en route to the country town of Colac, here you can grab a quick bite for dinner (at own expense) if you wish as we will arrive back home in Melbourne at approximately 7:00pm.

I would give 5 stars if the review is only on the scenery. Booking was made to Viator and trip was fulfilled by Wildlife tour/Autopia. The scenery was great but i must say the transport does not match up to expectation. It was a 14 hour tour and we travelled in a 20 or so seater van which travels like a lorry... the ride was not comfortable!

Fantastic tour and well worth the effort. Our guide, Brett, was friendly, informative, helpful, and got to know everyone on the trip. Pick up was on time and easy from central locations across Melbourne's CBD. Our tour got hit with detours thanks to massive brush fires in the area but we were able to see everything and it never felt rushed. Highlights: 12 Apostles, Great Ocean Road, Loch Ard Gorge, rain forest walk, wild kangaroos, wild koalas, and Torquay beach at night.

An fantastic day trip from Melbourne...a bit too short since there are so many spectacular places to see..the 12 Apostles lookout is magnificent. Also we stopped to othe 2 lookouts on Great Ocean Road: Gibson steps and Loch Ard Gorge. The 30 min Rainforest walk
Was also great and the stop to Kennett River was a big surprise to see the King parrots and koala . The guide was very knowledgeable and a good entertainer...highly recommended to anyone traveling in that area. -

Although our day experienced some raindrops and wind, the coastline is magnificent and stunning. Seeing the 12 Apostles was even better than the pictures. Our guide, Grant, gave us plenty of time at each spot along the way and provided us with terrific information. I would highly recommend everyone visiting the area do this tour.

Great trip and awesome guide. My only knock is that the day was SUPER long with many lengthy van stays, and little beach time. I would probably skip the first stop with the birds and get to the Ocean Road as quickly as possible where you have awesome views and potential beaches to stop at. Also consider the reverse route which would get you to the Apostles on the earlier side, potentially before the thousands descend in the afternoon. The beach at end where the ship was wrecked is the highlight of the day. Wish we could have stayed longer there.
