Start the day meeting your local tour guide in Melbourne CBD before departing for the day towards your first stop, the Puffing Billy Steam Train.
Prior to arrival, your tour guide will discuss your options for the day as this tour does not include entry to the Puffing Billy Steam Train, Phillip Island Penguin Parade and the animal sanctuary. If you would like to enter all 3 optional attractions, you can pay this fee direct to your local tour operator on the day of travel.
Upon arriving, board the train for a one hour long train ride towards the Lakeside Station. Used to develop rural areas in the 1990's, the historic Puffing Bill Steam Train runs on it's original mountain track through the lush mountain from Belgrave to Gembook and the incredible Dandenong ranges.
Once you've built up an appetite, enjoy a delicious gourmet picnic lunch before taking a short drive through the Dandenong's and down to the seaside coastal area of Western Port Bay.
Next, get up close and personal with wildlife at an animal sanctuary and explore the sights of Phillip Island including the National Surfing Reserve, Nobbies seaside vistas and quaint island sights.
You will then have spare time to enjoy a delicious dinner (own expense) before exploring tales of the island life and the penguins lifestyle with your knowledgeable and passionate guide, chef and story teller.
See the penguins waddle across the beach and in the dune systems at Australia’s most successful conservation center, The Phillip island Penguin Parade.
Return to Melbourne with free courtesy hotel drop off to all CBD, South Bank and St Kilda locations.
