Enjoy a full day to explore Australia's oldest zoo at your own pace with your admission ticket to the Melbourne Zoo. As you wander through the open-air exhibits, you’ll get to observe some of the world's most fascinating creatures. Snap pics of your favorites and discover new ones!
In the zoo’s new walk-though Lemur Island exhibit, you can watch charismatic ring-tailed lemurs scrambling about. Then head next door to the Gorilla Rainforest: home to gorillas, pygmy hippopotamus, and tree-dwelling apes and monkeys. At Baboon Lookout, watch the baboons play, groom one another, and search for food on their grassland savannah.
For more great apes, travel into the treetops on an elevated walkway to observe the orangutans. They rarely come down from the trees, but this exhibit lets you watch them up close as they climb, swing and eat, far above the ground!
Next, you can walk through the magical Butterfly House, where hundreds of colorful native butterflies flit around you in the lush vegetation of the tropical glasshouse. If you want to check out the creatures of Victoria’s coast, dive into the Wild Sea exhibit and watch native penguins at play. Australian fur seals and pelicans that were injured in the wild also live here, along with Port Jackson sharks, seahorses, fiddler rays and lots of fish.
Want to see what it takes to work at a zoo? The Keeper Kids play space will show you the ropes! Little kids will also love the Growing Wild interactive exhibit where they can patrol like a meerkat, burrow through tunnels, and climb into giant tortoise shells.

Love the zoo here. It was a nice way to spend the day. You do need money to park.

The zoo is well-done, but I was disappointed to be unable to see the creatures I most wanted to see: kangaroos and Tasmanian devils. The aviary is exceptional, and the koalas are just as cute as they should be. getting there by train was amazingly simple.

I loved the zoo! We arrived into Melbourne before our check in time so we spent some time at the zoo. Wonderful displays and interesting animals. You can purchase tickets at the entrance of the zoo but I prefer having my tickets in advance.

Nice zoo, but was very busy on the kids holiday, so couldn't enjoy too much with big crowds

The melbourne once again under going works I think some of animals need a change up put them in different cages or other parts of zoo
most of animals i saw walking back and forward and looked bored -
Great experience with the family spending Christmas Day at the Melbourne Zoo. Especially enjoyed watching the majestic giraffes up close! Highly recommend this visit to families.

The zoo is where you see all the different type of animals and it is an ideal place for you to expend your children's energy. Be prepared to walk some distances but health benefit worth it.
