    Your tour begins with pickup from your Hobart hotel by coach, and a scenic trip to the Cadbury chocolate factory, established in 1922.

    At the Claremont Cadbury Interpretation Centre, learn about the history and manufacturing processes behind Cadbury's chocolate. Taste the raw ingredients and watch the process of chocolates being molded into delicious treats, then head to the retail shop for more tastings and discount purchases of popular and specialty chocolates.

    The tour to Cadbury's also takes you on a scenic route past Constitution Dock, the ABC Buildings (Hobart’s original sandstone railway station), the Botanical Gardens and Government House.

    Then take a relaxing ferry ride along the Derwent River to MONA. Arriving by boat is essential to the MONA experience, underscoring the impression that you are visiting a very special place.

    Admire MONA’s cutting-edge complex of modern buildings on your approach to the museum's entrance, then lose yourself in Australia’s largest privately funded gallery of ancient and modern artworks, collected and exhibited by Tasmanian-born entrepreneur David Walsh.

    From mixed-media installations to 3D sculptures and Neolithic artifacts, get ready to be enthralled, inspired and sometimes confronted by this collection exploring the inner recesses of the human experience and psyche.

    While touring the collections, you can learn more about the exhibits via a handheld touch-screen device, and interact by recording your own impressions and responses.

    The collection is vast, so relax while you’re at MONA by visiting the museum’s restaurant, cafe or wine bar, with its cellar door highlighting the region's local wines (own expense).

    Two Attractions with very different experiences:
    1. Cadbury Chocolate Tasting Tour-
    This was a great disappointment! A large crowd of visitors was herded into a very tired meeting room with 15 chairs for about 75 visitors. A rather disinterested presenter introduced an old DVD and then sent us off to the gift shop no factory tour!
    Sadly, this attraction is a waste of time and money.

    2. MONA -
    MONA wages war on the unconventional outrageous, irreverent, scatological, diabolical and occasionally obscene. This is a must-do in Hobart.

    Good price on Cadbury chocolate in factory. Plenty of time in Mona and ferry time flexible. Easy and worth going.

    Brilliant!. The commentary on the way to Cadbury's was very informative and there was plenty of time to purchase loads and loads of chocolate!. We decided to change our return ferry time back from Mona and that was a simple as asking the lady at the Mona reception desk to make the arrangements. Very, very easy way to organise a day trip.

    My autistic son - who is nicknamed 'The Chocolate Thief' absolutely loved this. He was in heaven! Don't miss getting a hot chocolate...I recommend the mixed hot chocolate - 2 scoops dark, 2 scoops milk and 1 scoop white. It was delicious! The staff are very friendly and helpful. I would highly recommend Cadbury! We were then dropped off at the Mona Centre. It was not quite my thing (I'm more of a traditionalist) but it was interesting. There is a Starbucks there for coffee/lunch. Also included is a ferry ride back to Hobart. I changed the time with ease. I'd recommend both the Mona and ferry.

    I was extremely happy with every aspect of this tour. Right from the pick up at my hotel (Graeme) and the tour guide to Cadbury and Mona (Peter). Everything ran on time and the guides were extremely courteous and their commentary most informative. The only thing I would comment on is that the location for pick up from the hotel should have been mentioned somewhere on the itinerary or when I confirmed the booking. I just assumed that pick up would be at the front of the hotel and it was out of sight around the corner. Nonetheless, the driver went out of his way to contact and then collect me so everything worked out well.
