Make your own way to Appel Park in Surfers Paradise to meet your guide for the bike tour. Get outfitted with a beach cruiser bike with basket and helmet and receive a short safety briefing.
When ready, hop on your bike and follow your guide. Take in spectacular ocean and harbor scenery as you leave the bustling streets behind to discover the natural beauty of the Gold Coast. Ride on golden sand-beaches, explore historic sites and cruise to the tip of the Seaway jetty for amazing views from Surfers Paradise to Coolangatta.
Head to a secluded bay beach where you take a break to swim, check out the marine life or simply relax. Refreshed, ride on coastal shrub tracks to reach Marina Village where you have time to explore on your own. At the designated time, meet up with your guide for a snack and drinks at a spot that overlooks the marina. Then pedal to your final stop at a historic bathing pavilion before returning to your starting point in Surfers Paradise.
Throughout the day, your knowledgeable guide shares informative commentary about the Gold Coast and its historic sites as well as tips on favorite local places to visit. Enjoy frequent stops to take photos and check out the sights along your route.
Expect to ride at a leisurely pace on a combination of sandy beach, paved bike paths and unpaved tracks, with just a few minutes on a road with cars. Most of the ride is flat except for some small up-and-down sections on the coastal track. The ride is suitable for most riders and requires a low-medium level of fitness.
