Day 1: Darwin - Litchfield National Park - Kakadu (L, D)
Starting from your Darwin accommodation at approx. 7am you will journey to Litchfield National Park. Explore the waterfalls, spring-fed streams and rugged sandstone escarpments of Litchfield National Park. Discover intriguing cathedral and magnetic termite mounds and swim, hike and explore Florence and Wangi Falls and enjoy a picnic lunch. Continue along Marrakai Road before joining the Old Jim Jim Road deep into Kakadu National Park. Traveling past billabongs and traversing water crossings bringing ample opportunity for wildlife spotting. Arrive at camp with comfortable permanent tents at Cooinda and spend the night enjoying dinner and some stargazing.

Day 2: Kakadu - Yellow Water Cruise, Nourlangie and Ubirr Art sites - Kakadu (B, L, D)
A highlight at Kakadu National Park, the award winning Yellow Waters cruise is Aboriginal owned and showcases the spectacular billabong system home to some remarkable and diverse wildlife. Spotting crocodiles is one of the many wildlife viewing opportunities on this unique water system. Departing camp, travel to nearby Nourlangie Rock where you can see how local Aboriginal people lived in this area through changing times. After lunch visit the Bowali Visitor Centre. See the audio-visual presentations and Marrawuddi Gallery showcasing Aboriginal art by artists from within Kakadu and the wider region. later in the afternoon arrive at a significant Aboriginal art site of Ubirr, located within the East Alligator region of the park. Here you will view a wide range of ancient Aboriginal art which will be interpreted by your guide. Learn the story of the Rainbow Serpent and climb the Nadab Lookout for panoramic views over the floodplain and beyond. It’s time to find a quiet spot to watch the sunset over the Kakadu escarpment before making heading to our private and permanent campsite for the night.

Day 3: Kakadu National Park Darwin (B, L)
Today the jewels of Kakadu National Park await. Departing early, travel to Twin and Jim Jim Falls. Explore Twin Falls Gorge which is accessed by 4-wheel drive track, a boat shuttle service and a rocky walking track and boardwalk. Once there relax on the sandy banks and admire the falls. There’s more 4-wheel driving as we make our way to Jim Jim Falls where a walk through monsoon forest and over boulders takes us to the waterfall and plunge pool which are surrounded by 150-metre cliffs. Spend the afternoon taking in the sheer beauty of your spectacular surrounds before heading back to Darwin and your accommodation.

Day 1: Darwin - Litchfield National Park - Kakadu (L, D)
You will be collected from your Darwin accommodation at approximately 7.00am for the short journey to Litchfield National Park. Explore the waterfalls, spring-fed streams and rugged sandstone escarpments of Litchfield National Park. Discover intriguing cathedral and magnetic termite mounds, swim, hike and explore Florence and Wangi Falls* and enjoy a picnic lunch.
After lunch we leave the highway behind and hit the dirt travelling along the Marrakai Road before joining the Old Jim Jim Road taking us deep into Kakadu National Park. Travelling past billabongs and traversing water crossings brings ample opportunity for wildlife spotting. Arrive at our private campsite complete with comfortable permanent tents at Cooinda where we spend the night enjoying dinner and some stargazing.

Day 2: Kakadu - Yellow Waters Cruise, Nourlangie and Ubirr Art site - Kakadu (B, L, D)
Awake for breakfast this morning before joining an iconic Yellow Waters Cruise. A must do activity within Kakadu National Park, the award winning Yellow Waters cruise is Aboriginal owned and centres around a spectacular billabong system that is home to some remarkable and diverse wildlife. Spotting crocodiles is only one of the many wildlife viewing opportunities on this unique water system.
Departing camp we travel to nearby Nourlangie Rock. Here you can see how local Aboriginal people lived in this area through changing times. Environmental and social changes are reflected in the rock art and in the ground, where archaeologists have uncovered over 20,000 years of Aboriginal occupation.
After lunch visit the Bowali Visitor Centre, a Gun-djeihmi name for the local area and creek on land owned by the Mirarr clan. See the audio-visual presentations and Marrawuddi Gallery showcasing Aboriginal art by artists from within Kakadu and the wider region.
Later this afternoon we arrive at the culturally significant Aboriginal art site of Ubirr, located within the East Alligator region of the park. Here you will view a wide range of ancient Aboriginal art which will be interpreted by your guide. Learn the story of the Rainbow Serpent and climb the Nadab Lookout for panoramic views over the floodplain and beyond into Arnhem Land. After learning about the area, it’s time to pick out a quiet spot to sit while we watch the sun set over the Kakadu escarpment before making the short journey to our private and permanent campsite for the night.

Day 3: Kakadu National Park Darwin (B, L)

We had a brilliant time on this tour. Our guide Rowdy was fantastic - knowledgeable, communicative and saved our lives when we were unexpectedly ambushed by a wild ox !! The tour was great fun, with lots of stops and time out of the vehicle. I particularly enjoyed walking up high ground to look at amazing views, and the yellow river boat tour on which we saw big salty crocs. The accommodation we had was an authentic experience....loved Mount Bundy. Learned so much about indigenous culture, and saw so many animals and birds. Thanks for an unforgettable time Rowdy.

Great experience. An unique opportunity to know first hand the Northern End. Small group we were 12 people, comfortable vehicle, decent camping facilities. Steph the guide was superb!!

The tour was a great way to get a bite of two massive reserves in 3 days. Our 4WD bus held 15 passengers and was driven and guided by Jorga who was knowledgable and energetic. The days were well mapped out with a lot of driving to get to the locations. We especially enjoyed the two hour cruise where we spotted 14 crocs. and our frigid swim and rock climb at Jim Jim falls. We felt like we hit some great highlights and would not been able to do them as efficiently without our planners. The tent camps were clean and nice, the food was hot and cooked for us by Jorga and the company was nice. Great adventure!

I enjoyed the boat ride best, seeing the wild life, and also the ancient Aboriginal art. The camp sites let the trip down - the first one was ok but poorly lit at night. The toilets and shower hut at the second site were quite primitive. The toilets were like the ones from about a hundred years ago, with spiders etc. and some of us had to share our shower cubicle with cane toads!

Fantastic tour and great, knowledgable guide. Lots of swimming which was fantastic and the Yellow River cruise was amazing! Comfortable tents and good facilities. A great way to see the highlights of Kakadu and Litchfield! Highly recommended.

Sam was a great guide. We went in the rainy season, and the 4WD made sure we got through a few water crossings and didn't have to miss out on any of the attractions. It's a great way to travel the big distances we had to cover. All the attractions were beautiful in the wet season, although you are taking risks with the rain. The second campsite gave us a real feel for what farm life is like in the outback, bugs and cane toads and all. Have already recommended it to my friends.
