Snorkel or dive at some of the best known dive sites off Cairns such as Flynn, Milln and Thetford reefs for their abundance of marine life. The sites offer excellent wall dives, swim-throughs and overhangs, great for both novice and experienced divers. you can expect to see an abundance of fish species, hard corals such as staghorn, table, plate and boulder coral, and many species of soft corals.
Your day begins as you board the boat at Marlin Wharf. The ultra modern 29 meter catamaran will be your base for the day. Throughout the day you'll visit three different locations which may include Thetford, Milln and Flynn Reef. Each stop showcases a different aspect of the beautiful Great Barrier Reef. At each site you have the choice to snorkel, dive or a combination of both.
If you have never tried scuba diving you can choose to do one or two introductory dives, or you may prefer to stick to snorkeling and explore all three sites from the surface. A crew member will take those interested on a guided snorkel tour at one of the reef locations. Certified divers can choose to partake in up to three certified dives. Whatever you choose, your Outer Great Barrier Reef Dive and Snorkel Cruise includes up to five hours in the water.
The friendly crew will be happy to answer any questions you have throughout the day. The boat features full bar facilities, fresh water showers and expansive sun-decks overlooking the Coral Sea. A tropical buffet lunch will be served between sites, along with morning and afternoon tea.
We recommend you book this reef trip on your first full available day. You then have the opportunity to be flexible and change your travel date if you wish. Your booking can be changed at no additional cost directly with the operator once you are in Cairns. The tour was amazing. Isa was brilliant. Extremely calm and patient with everyone. Dave was super too.

The crew on the Silver Swift were outstanding. Fun time. They made both the beginning diving and snorkeling instruction easy.

This trip is probably very fun when the weather is nice however it was very windy and rough and should have been cancelled. A good number of people sea sick on this trip. The crew was not all that friendly and helpful compared to other snorkeling trips I have been on. Again, probably good if the weather is nice not when rough. If the weather is bad - do not take this tour as it was a complete waste of money for us

Excellent crew who carefully prepared all...snorkelers, divers and those that just rode along. We always felt safe and accounted for. Food and snacks were good.They did a great job of managing a large group keeping us in wet and dry areas which kept us all safe and comfortable. The water was choppy but I was fine taking medication and their ginger pill. Once you're in, you don't feel the waves that much. Staff was available for assistance and questions.You suited on and off at each stop which took time but was necessary if you wanted to ensure a stinger free experience. My only disappointment was the snorkel tour at the last stop. They gave us a five minute warning and then just left...one guy and that's it. It took at least 5 minutes for us to suit up. By the time I did, the group was in the distance and I was afraid to follow them by myself. Would have been nice to have a second group going out...feel like I missed out, especially seeing the pictures the staff photographer took and was selling. She did a nice job covering the trip.

We were so happy that we were able to see the reef. We went out to Flynn Reef where the fish and coral were beautiful. Normally, we would have gone to two other sites, but instead, we stayed out here longer and went to another part of the reef about 10 minutes away. We had plenty of time to swim around. The only down side was that heading out was extremely rough. Almost everyone was sick. If the ride out was smoother, it would have definitely been 5 stars.

The dives on Flynn Reef were better than two days earlier on Hastings Reef but the weather did not cooperate. Again, my third dive was canceled but this time due to monsoon conditions. Lunch also included warm food which was better than that provided by another boat earlier in the week.

Wonderful trip. We never felt crowded, the staff was super friendly. The entire day was well organized. The lunch and snacks were very good as well.

This was an excellent tour. I was most impressed with the amount of teaching they did in order to make sure you were safe and informed. If you only Scuba once a year as I do I appreciated the reminders. The reef was better than any other reef I'd seen but I was disappointed that it was 'half dead' even there. That's why I gave it a 4 star. Lots of varieties of fish and good visibility. The staff on the boat were all very professional and made it a very pleasurable day. Good food too! My friend and I wandered a little far and were surprised that the current was so strong trying to get back to the boat. They did warn us and they left a long rope out the back to pull yourself back with but it had drifted away and we couldn't find it when he needed it. There wasn't anything they could have done about that. They told us how to signal them if we needed them but you know how men are :! I can't think of one thing they could have changed or improved on. It was excellent and a beautiful day.

A friend recommended this trip so we booked it and would do this again in a heartbeat. Everything was supplied, the food was amazing on board and most importantly SAFETY was awesome. After every stop there was a head count and they meant business when counting the passengers. Nobody could move around the boat while the count was being done. That made my wife and I feel very safe. I would recommend this trip for families. The staff really showed concern for their guests. I was very impressed.

This is a must. Great experience - we did the walk that took us up in daylight but going dark coming down so we saw the city lighting up - just beautiful. Our guide was knowledgable and fun - would highly recommend .
