Catch the high-speed ferry from Cairns and arrive at Fitzroy Island in just 45 minutes. Walk to the activities hut located close to the ferry landing to meet your guide for your kayak tour. After introductions, receive safety instructions and your gear, which includes snorkeling equipment.
With your gear in hand, it’s time to pair up with a friend and hit the water in double kayaks. Follow your guide through the warm turquoise waters and learn fascinating facts about the ecology, history and marine life of Fitzroy Island and the Great Barrier Reef.
Paddle past pristine coastline and tempting beaches with lots of time to stop for snorkeling. Your guide can answer any questions about the colorful fish, coral and other natural features that you encounter in this slice of paradise.
After about three hours of kayaking and snorkeling, return to the beach where you started. There you are provided with a tasty picnic lunch that you can take with you to enjoy during your free time in the afternoon. Lunch includes a chicken wrap, a ham and cheese roll, fresh fruit, an energy bar, juice or other beverage and bottled water. The vegetarian lunch option can be requested when you book.
For the rest of the afternoon, enjoy free time to do as you please. You may want to walk to the lookout point for panoramic views, head to Nudey Beach for more snorkeling (you can keep your snorkel gear for the afternoon) or purchase a cold drink at the bar. At the designated time, catch the ferry to the mainland after a day in paradise on the Great Barrier Reef.行程概要出發地點

Fitzroy Island has a bit of rain forest as well as fun on the water. We used our day to kayak and snorkel and spent only 30 min walking to the rain forest to nudey beach so named for a mollusk with external gills. There is a sea turtle rescue hospital as well with a separate ticketed entry. There is a choice of a glass bottomed boat for those who don't want to kayak, or if the sea is too choppy.
The guide for the kayak was gave up pointers about how to propel a sea kayak our first time and how to get back in if we flipped we didn't. He had to give us reminders how to steer as we tended to zig zag. He also knew some of the human and natural history of the place. I enjoy hearing about what plants I am looking at, changes in sea level, why the beach has so much coral on it.
The answer to the last question is because sea currents slow down around the island causing whatever is being carried to drop off on the beaches.Coral beaches are rare, and the seemingly smooth cylinders are hard on feet.
The snorkeling was unguided. the best place is just off the coast where the boulders line the beach. It is visible from the pier where the boat docks.
We kayaked in the morning, ate a boxed lunch, then snorkeled in the afternoon.

Great trip from Fitzroy Island to Little Fitzroy Island. It was a small group and Dom was our tour guide. Dom is very easy going, and very knowledgeable and informative one of the best tour guides I've ever had. We especially enjoyed our little hike up to the light house and the snorkel afterwards. Great way to spend a day!

Can't say sea kayaking was my calling in life but the guides were helpful, conscientious and polite. Of the day trip itself, I preferred the down time to swim and snorkel at my own leisure.

The tour itinerary looked great, but it was too windy to kayak to Little Fitzroy on the day we kayaked. Staff was enthusiastic, helpful, and entertaining!

Staff are friendly! But could leave earlier so that we can have more time to enjoy the many activities in the island.

I had fun kayaking around Fitzroy Island. The two guides were very good and they gave us a lot of information about the reef. We had enough time to do some snorkeling as well. Unfortunately, that day the wind was too strong to reach Little Fitzroy Island and we had to do the snorkeling from a small and very private nearby beach. Still good enough. I would recommend for those who like kayaking
