Meet your guide at King George Square to kick off your tour with a complimentary beer as you get acquainted with your walking companions. Then follow your guide through Brisbane’s main streets and laneways, popping into local favorite spots in the city’s burgeoning bar and restaurant scene.
Founded as a penal colony, Brisbane was built by convict work crews, and some of the buildings still stand today. Your guide walks you past marked and unmarked heritage buildings as well as ANZAC and WWII sites as you explore the darker side of the city's history.
Stroll through heritage-listed ANZAC Square, a patch of green open space nestled between downtown offices, and learn of commemorations planned for the ANZAC Centenary, which marks 100 years since ANZAC began in the First World War.
See the headquarters of General Douglas MacArthur, who arrived in Brisbane in 1942 and lived with his family in the Lennon Hotel on George Street. His headquarters were located at the corner of Queen and Edward streets in a building that now houses the MacArthur Museum. Hear stories about Brisbane during WWII, such as why tensions between Australian and US troops led to two nights of rioting known as the 1942 Battle of Brisbane.

We only went to one real pub and tasted beers the rest was walking, a little less of a beer tour, more walking than I thought. But a good way to spend an evening before or after dinner!

Contact details were incorrect, we had to search for the tour company by ourselves to confirm booking. Tour guide was not prepared at all, and he was unprofessional. He only brought us to 1 lane way bar. The tour only lasted for about 2 hours. Worst walking tour we have been on.
