Your tour begins with pickup from the Ayers Rock Resort. Relax on the scenic trip through Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park, and keep a lookout for the park's wildlife, including kangaroos, camels and wild horses.
During the trip to Kata Tjuta, listen to your guide's expert commentary about central Australia’s ecology and hear some of the creation stories passed down over the millennia by the local Anangu people.
The stories reveal the Aboriginal people's special connection to the landscape you're traveling through, including the sacred sandstone domes of Kata Tjuta, meaning 'many heads.' The sacred formation of 36 giant rock domes extends for 4 miles (6 kilometers) through the park.
Arriving at Kata Tjuta, explore this legendary site on a 2- to 3-hour guided walk through the Valley of the Winds. Take in amazing views across the red sandstone domes at the Karu lookout, as you follow winding rocky tracks to the Valley of the Winds lookout area for more tremendous views over the central Australian desert. This walk can be a little challenging, and requires a good level of fitness.
As the afternoon draws to a close, your tour takes you to the sunset viewing area at Kata Tjuta. Enjoy a glass of chilled sparkling wine with nibbles as you take in the amazing sight of an outback sunset at Kata Tjuta. Watch the domes change color in the fading light as the sun sets behind the horizon.

Cloudy, so unfortunately not much of a sunset but the tour itself was well organised

Grace did a fantastic job of telling us the historical and ecological significance of the area. She also carefully guided us through a challenging hike. Highly recommend..............take the long hike. The view is amazing!

The walk was slow and not nearly as challenging as advertised, with too many stops and long breaks. We booked into with the expectation to walk the 7km loop, as it had been advertised, however the itinerary had been changed without any prior notification. The gorgeous sunset viewing made up for the walk

Great tour, worth the 8km walk! Had a choice to do the long or short walk, we decided to do the long walk and it was amazing, the AAT Kings tour guides were fantastic. After the walk we watched the sunset with a glass of bubbly and nibbles, I would highly recommend.

I loved Kata Tjuta sunset tour. Ayres Rock or Uluru is always the big attraction however, the sunset at this site was amazing. This is enormous. Thanks to AAT Kings for their very knowledgable and interesting driver and tour guide.

Amazing tour! We did two walks that were each about one hour or a little more each. The extreme heat left us without doing the third walk but that was okay and out of their control. The Park controls that and not the Tour Companies. The walks were unreal with great scenery everywhere. Everywhere you looked was a great potential picture. I did not want it to end.

A great experience that I would highly recommend. One comment though, the tour requires a lot of walking up to 16 km and in hot weather most of the Valley of the Winds walk is closed which actually makes it more accessible. On these hot days the tour is made better by a short Valley of the Winds Walk and then a visit to Walpa Gorge

The walk was not as impressive as I had hoped, but the guides were really wonderful ( AATKIngs). Very enthusiastic, interacted well with everyone, very eager to share their love of the area.
