Meet your guide in Curry Village on the morning of your tour, and discuss the many options for your 4-hour exploration of Yosemite Valley, customized to the preferences of your private group. (When booking this tour, please list any special interests you have, such as architecture, history, culture, ecology or natural landmarks, so that your guide can prepare.)Yosemite National Park offers a variety of easy hikes around the valley floor that lead to waterfalls, museums and monoliths. During your interpretive walk, your guide will point out some of the lesser-known gems around the valley and provide insight about its cultural history and geology.Perhaps take the 1-mile (1.6-km) loop trail leading to the base of Yosemite Falls, one of the world's tallest waterfalls with three cascades descending 2,425 feet (739 meters). A shuttle ride and an easy 20-minute hike on a paved trail brings you to Bridalveil Fall, which plunges 620 feet (189 meters) and flows year-round. Opposite the waterfall you’ll find El Capitan, the world’s eighth-largest monolith, which rises more than 3,000 feet (914 meters) above the valley floor.If you’re up for more of a challenge, enjoy up-close views of Vernal Fall from the footbridge at its base, reached via a moderate 1.6-mile (2.6-km) round-trip hike along a paved uphill route beside the scenic Merced River. Or head to the secret ‘Indian Caves’ to explore the largely unknown cavern.Let your guide know if you prefer to check out any of the museums or other cultural sites that offer informative history lessons about Yosemite National Park. Maybe visit the Ansel Adams Gallery Museum, formerly known as Best's Studio, in operation since 1902 and showcasing the works of Ansel Adams, as well as contemporary photographers.Consider a visit to the Yosemite Museum, completed in 1925 and a fine example of the park’s rustic architectural style. See displays about Yosemite's Miwok and Paiute people from 1850 to the present, and don’t miss the reconstructed Indian Village of Ahwahnee. The renowned 5-star Ahwahnee Hotel is also worth a stop.
