Begin your Seward pre- or post-cruise shore excursion with complimentary shuttle pickup from either the Seward port at 7am (if arriving by cruise ship) or the train depot at 11:05 am (if arriving on the Alaska Railroad from Anchorage). Then, board your comfortable vessel and take in the marvelous views from the observation deck as your captain heads to Kenai Fjords National Park.
Witness myriad forms of Alaskan wildlife as you enjoy your six-hour cruise, coasting past breathtaking scenery viewed from the water. Your in-depth tour takes you past jagged cliffs along the Kenai Peninsula, where icy fjords and calving glaciers both alpine and tidewater shape the dramatic landscape. Amid 700 square miles (1,130 square km) of the Harding Icefield, which blankets the Kenai Mountains in glacier ice, you’ll be astounded by the vast amount of Alaskan wildlife to be seen including a variety of whales and birdlife.
Hear onboard commentary about Kenai Fjords National Park from your knowledgeable captain and learn about the abundant marine life you’re likely to see at peak season. If you’re lucky, observe harbor seals, sea lions, sea otters and porpoises as well as humpback, minke and orca whales that inhabit the icy waters.
Admire the striking landscape as you cruise approximately 100 miles (160 km) round-trip from Seward, and enjoy an onboard lunch (see sample menu below). Learn about the constantly changing geology of the Harding Icefield, one of four major ice caps in the United States, dating back to the ice age. Your captain will point out the steep fjords and the plankton-rich waters, which support whales that migrate to these important feeding grounds.
Head to the Alaska Maritime National Wildlife Refuge to find migratory seabirds that nest here as well as in the Kenai Fjords. View the rookeries of more than 18 bird species, including black-legged kittiwakes and common murres, and be amused by puffins as they dive underwater. As you witness the immense and impressive beauty of Alaska’s coastal waters, you’ll see why this wildlife and glacier cruise is Alaska’s most popular!
Your tour ends with shuttle transport to the Seward port (if departing by cruise ship).

So much fun on this tour, got to see orcas, humpbacks, bald eagles, and some of the most outstanding and amazong views in the planet. couldnt ask for more.

Very good views of puffins, orcas, and whales. But, the highlight was the glaciers. They were awesome.
