Your 2-hour Savannah walking tour begins in Reynolds Square. This site was the center of colonial government in the 1700s and once held the House of Assembly, where the first reading of the Declaration of Independence took place in Georgia. Most of Savannah’s most historically significant and interesting buildings are located here.
As your guide leads you through the Savannah Historic District, one of the largest National Historic Landmark Districts of its kind in the US, pass houses of the South’s most prominent generals and see architecture that was present during the Civil War.
You’ll discover how the war started in Savannah with the seizing of Fort Pulaski by Georgian troops. Learn about Savannah’s role in the Civil War, as well as its military strategies as a Confederate state, and hear fascinating stories about the hardships that civilians endured during those years.

Our walking tour was great. Brad, the guide, was very informative and provided and enjoyable morning walking thru Savannah.

Our guide was excellent although I was a little disappointed in that there wasn't enough Civil War history on this tour but it might have been because there isn't really that much actual Civil War history in Savannah. The City is full of history of pirates, various occupations and slavery that the Civil War becomes a small part of what has actually taken place in Savannah. Thank you General Sherman for sparing this beautiful City. This is a great walking tour loaded with historical details. Mary, Mike, Ann and Clay

This tour was a lot of fun! The guide was very informative. We covered quite a bit of ground in the short amount of time we had available.

This was my first time to Savannah. I like history and got an excellent tour guide that was very knowledgeable! We toured all over the historic district and I enjoyed the level of historic knowledge, professionalism and humor of our tour guide. I highly recommend this tour.

Wonderful walk through scenic old Savannah seeing many old structures from the original making of the city.

Brad was terrific. He knew his stuff. Favorite visit was to the Pink House.
Only complaint that I have is The Savannah Walks does not get back to you. I made 6 calls and left messages before anyone contacted me while I was there in Savannah. Someone must work these phones more diligently. -
Our tour guide was very friendly and knowledgeable but we had taken an historical walking tour a couple of days prior and the locations and topics on both tours were almost identical so it was a bit redundant for me. I would recommend doing one or the other. Also, calling it a Civil War tour is a bit of a stretch, just some mentions of General Sherman and how he related to the locations we visited.
