Alcatraz Audio Walking Tour:
Make your own way to Fisherman's Wharf, then board your ferry and head out on San Francisco Bay to Alcatraz Island. Known as The Rock, this notorious former prison housed some of the world’s most famous thugs including Al Capone, George ‘Machine Gun’ Kelley and Robert ‘The Birdman’ Stroud.
When you arrive, you can take a free guided tour of the grounds. You'll then receive your audio headset for a fascinating 45-minute self-guided walking tour of the prison. Winding your way in and out of eerie prison cells and down spooky chambers, this award-winning audio tour provides an immersive experience of the prison, complete with sound effects and actual interviews of former guards and inmates.
There is no restriction on the amount of time you can spend on the island, so you can hop back on the ferry whenever you please to return to Fisherman's Wharf (departs every 30 minutes).
Once you arrive back to the wharf, re-energize with a wonderful lunch made by Get Fresh SF including a sandwich, wrap or Asian bowl of your choice, chips, fresh fruit and a drink or fresh fruit smoothie.
GPS-Guided GoCar Tour (2 Hours):
After your Alcatraz tour or on another day of your vacation, enjoy an exhilarating sightseeing tour of the city by GoCar. Head to Fisherman's Wharf or Union Square at your selected tour time and receive an orientation session to get you acquainted with the vehicle. When you're ready to ride, hop into your GPS-guided GoCar for an unforgettable 2-hour journey.
Drive around the city at your own pace and stop at attractions such as the Golden Gate Bridge, Crissy Field, the Presidio, Ocean Beach, Golden Gate Park, the Palace of Fine Arts and winding Lombard Street. More than 50 top San Francisco locations and landmarks are loaded in the GPS system, giving you the freedom to choose what you want to see, when you want to see it.
Your provided audio directions ─ available in several different languages ─ are clear and concise, so you’ll always know exactly where to go. If there's a site you'd like to visit that's not preloaded on the GPS system, simply use your provided map to navigate your own way there. You can even put a CD in the stereo and enjoy music along the way.

You will love this self guided tour. Just watch your time because they charge you by the minute for everything over your allotted time which was not explained up front. The tour encourages you to take detours and stop to take in the sights. Just be careful about your time. It adds up fast.

Utterly hillarious.
The gps cut out quite a bit which added to the humour of the tour - although we got totally lost.
This was so much fun, it was well worth the humiliation of being those two in the yellow buggy
You see some fantastic sights and get to stop off at many photo points. Definitely worth a go!! -

This was the highlight of our visit to San Francisco. My husband and I are 67 years old and had the time of our lives. You can't get lost as long as you listen to the gps operator. We got to see quite a lot of the city and were able to stop and take photos. I'd do this again anytime!

This was a great adventure. Even though the day was windy and chilly it was still a wonderful tour. Alcatraz was a sobering experience but well worth the time. The audio definitely enhanced the tour. The Guided GoCars was also a great trip. Easy route with light traffic. Lots to see and do in San Francisco. The GoCar was a nice way to get around and see everything. We enjoyed both tours.

I absolutely loved the Alcatraz portion of this trip. Great sights and the first portion of this trip went off without a hitch.
Once we got to the second part of the day we were greeted and were told to watch a safety video before we jumped in the Go Car to drive around the city. We felt very rushed out of the main location and quickly realized about 10 minutes later that our GPS was not turned on. We were stuck in a lot of traffic and so by the time we returned back to the main location and swapped out vehicles, it had already been 30 minutes. Our GPS had never been turned on and they didn't even completely fill the tank. On our second attempt out, our GPS worked perfectly and we were having a great time until our exhaust blew out going up a hill, halfway through our adventure. Upon calling the company we were told we needed to get an Uber on our own dime and leave the Go Car on the side of the road. This was very inconvenient and we were pretty upset. Upon returning via Uber to to the location, we did not receive any apologies and although they refunded our Uber and charge for the Go Car for the day which we appreciated, we left feeling very let down by the experience. I would highly recommend using a different option to see the city. This company was a real let down and a waste of time.
