Designed for participants with prior experience riding a Segway, this 2.5-hour tour of San Francisco covers a lot of ground in a fraction of the time you’d spend walking.Glide along miles of Golden Gate Park’s trails and roads, visiting hidden gems including the Lily Pond and Fern Grotto, nestled inside 1,017 acres (411 hectares). En route, your knowledgeable guide shares trivia about the park’s historical transformation from bleak sand dunes to today’s lush landscape.Before departing for the Upper Haight, explore the park's eastern end, including the National AIDS Memorial and Music Concourse. You’ll pass notable landmarks such as the Conservatory of Flowers, the California Academy of Sciences and the deYoung Museum, and get a glimpse of the San Francisco Botanical Gardens and the Japanese Tea Garden.Then scoot up to a lookout point above Buena Vista Park, San Francisco's oldest park, for soaring views of the city, its bridges and San Francisco Bay (weather-dependent, as it can be foggy).Learn about the colorful history of the Haight-Ashbury neighborhood and its hippie counterculture made famous during the 1967 Summer of Love. Ride your Segway along the atmospheric streets, passing Victorian houses, clothing shops and iconic spots. Your guide points out famous homes once belonging to Charles Manson, the Hell's Angels and band members of the Grateful Dead before your tour ends back in Golden Gate Park.Please Note: Participants must have a minimum of 2 hours of past Segway riding experience in the last two years.
