The Little Italy pizza tour is a culinary adventure in San Diego's Italian quarter.
Our guides from Italy will take you in search of finding and tasting authentic pizza at some of Little Italy newest and most popular places.Today, Little Italy, San Diego is blessed to have talented chefs that have come over from Tuscany, Milan, Naples and Sicily and have brought their recipes and pizza ovens with them and now serve up pizza like they made back in Italy. Our Italian guides bring you there to taste for yourselves!
Pizza is America's favorite food. Back in the day, pizza was only to be found in the Little Italy neighborhoods. The most authentic varieties can still be found there. Our Italian guides take you to 4 of Little Italy's most popular restaurants and pizzerias to taste 7 different gourmet varieties.
We will introduce you to varieties you have never tasted before--pizza the way they make it in Italy!
Even today, in Italy, pizza is made differently in all the regions, diverse shapes, ingredients, textures, styles, cooked in various kinds of ovens.
Our guides are each from different cities in Italy and each of them is anxious to share with you what their favorite pizza is and how it is made in their town/village back in Italy. They will help you navigate through the world of pizza diversity as it is in Italy. And tasting is the best way to begin the journey!
Our guides Annalisa, Marianna, Michela and Alba also share the thrilling story of pizza with you dating back to antiquity as you sample and experience new tastes and new places to enjoy them in Little Italy. A glass of Italian wine gets the party started as you and your fellow tour guests, soak up the atmosphere at each locale, meeting the managers, owners and sometimes even the chefs at some of Little Italy's best places for pizza. Plus, we will introduce you to local Italians in the neighborhood who will make you feel like you are part of the family in this one of a kind experience in the Italian quarter. You may even pick up some Italian words and phrases from our guides along the way that will stay with you. Your tummy will be happy and you will have made new friends and found new places to enjoy--the most popular of foods--heavenly pizza!
