The Heart of Africa is the largest, most exciting new development in San Diego Zoo Safari Park history. It invites you to experience an African style safari as you search for wildlife in the 30-acre habitat. The WAGASA Bush Line Monorail is an incredible 55 minute ride which takes you through Africa and Asia to see animals in the expansive, naturalistic enclosures of San Diego Zoo Safari Park.
Test your wildlife knowledge at the Animal Trackers show, and get up-close and personal with animals at various keeper talks throughout the day. With so much to see and do at San Diego Zoo Safari Park, you are sure to enjoy a day of fun and education for the whole family.

Attractions at San Diego Zoo Safari Park include:
Africa Tram: An exciting expedition with brightly colored tour vehicles and a diverse animal collection to see. The ride path takes you around some of the field exhibits, giving you a chance to connect with the animals on a closer level during this relaxing adventure.
Cheetah Run: Witness the fastest land mammal up close and personal doing what it does best: run! During Cheetah Run, watch as the sleek cat races down a 330-foot-long track that allows it to stretch its legs and reach maximum speed — about 70 miles per hour!
Conservation Carousel: For kids and the young at heart, the colorful Conservation Carousel features 60 creatures to choose from, many of them replicas of rare and endangered animals. You can ride a giraffe, rhino, zebra, cheetah, and more—which will be your favorite? (own expense)
Lorikeet Landing: Watch colorful rainbow lorikeets swoop down to enjoy nectar offered by guests. Exhibit entrance is free; lorikeet food is available for purchase to experience the thrill of feeding these birds by hand.
Robert the Zebra: If you've ever wanted to have a conversation with a zebra—or even if it never crossed your mind—this is your chance! Robert the Zebra lives in digital, animated form on a large screen, where he can see the people who have come to visit. He asks questions, cracks jokes, talks about zebra life, and is very curious about humans. Takes place in the Discovery Station Amphitheater.
Fisher-Price Samburu Jungle Gym: Kids love to climb and explore in this safari-themed play area; parents love the shade-covered picnic area.
Discovery Station: This kid-friendly area is filled with musical instruments, puppets, books, craft activities, and wildlife toys designed to give children and their adult companions a playful space for animal-themed fun. Staff educators facilitate learning and activities every day during regular operating hours. Stop by for an impromptu animal presentation or do a stone rubbing of your favorite animal footprint.

This tour company was extremely useless. They do not care for people at all. Only they do is giving too much stress to peoples' minds. A guy who was very mean to people at Kettner st office told me my ride comes 8:15 to 8:45 am. So I was waiting in front of my hotel by 8 :15 am but finally the transportation came at 9:40 am . I was standing the whole hour and half in front of hotel. When I called their phone 3 times always they said it will come shortly. I am not kidding. Honestly this tour company is extremely useless. If U like to get the same worst experience just book it. Good luck !

Transport was nearly an hour late arriving! But after that it was a great day! Especially the 3hr old babygiraffe!

Worked well for being in San Diego without a car. Our problem was we didn't have car seats along either and the transportation was more like a van than a bus, so in hindsight we would have rented car seats.

My wife and I visited San Diego Safari Park in September while I was attending a local convention.
We flew from New Jersey and next day took the shuttle to the Park. The weather was beautiful and
the safari park was excellent. The only complaint was the unhelpful attitude from the customer desk
at Santa Fe train depot. But we're thankful to a couple tourists who helped us locate the shuttle.
Yes, the Safari Park is worth the trip even flying from East Coast.
