Hop-On Hop-Off Portland Sightseeing Trolley
Enjoy a narrated 1.5-hour tour of Portland on a sightseeing trolley, hopping on and off as you wish at the 11 stops (see Itinerary for a full list of stops). Your trolley pass is valid for two days, so there’s no need to rush.
See why Portland is nicknamed ‘Rose City’ at the gloriously colorful and fragrant International Rose Test Garden in Washington Park. Fall in love with the herd of Asian elephants at the Oregon Zoo, and lose yourself among the endless shelves at Powell’s City of Books, the world’s largest independent new and used bookstore. Your trolley pass also makes it easy to see the city’s historic buildings, interactive science museum and trendy shops. Plus, a portion of all ticket sales goes toward breast cancer awareness and research.
Columbia River Gorge Tour
Also included in your combo is a captivating 4.5-hour tour of the Columbia River Gorge, a long, gorgeous canyon stretching through the Cascade Range. You can take this tour before, after, or during the course of your two-day hop-on hop-off trolley pass -- the choice is yours. From downtown Portland, travel by coach along the winding Historic Columbia River Highway, taking in placid green hills and the impressive Columbia River as your driver provides commentary.
After stopping for panoramic views from the Vista House at Crown Point, loop down to Latourell Falls, a waterfall that dramatically plunges against a backdrop of massive rocks. Take your fill of photos before continuing your drive past Wahkeena Falls.
Your next stop is Oregon’s most popular natural attraction, Multnomah Falls and Lodge. The tallest waterfall in Oregon at roughly 620 feet (189 meters), magnificent Multnomah Falls has two stunning tiers and numerous scenic overlooks, and the lodge houses an interpretive center and gift shop.
Take in more natural splendor as you pass Oneonta Gorge and Horsetail Falls on your way to Bonneville Dam in the heart of the Columbia River Gorge National Scenic Area. In summer, marvel at the remarkable sight of thousands of salmon and steelhead swimming upstream along a fish ladder to navigate the dam.
On your return trip to Portland, follow the river-level route that the Lewis and Clark Expedition took more than 200 years ago as they made their way toward the Pacific Ocean. The Columbia River Gorge Tour was was great. Sites and tour bus guide super friendly and knowledgeable. The issue with the Trolley is it comes only once an hour even though it was a holiday weekend only on Saturday it was every 40 min. So when you get off the trolley you will have an issue getting back on because a lot of the people do not get off. Then if it is packed you are now looking at having spent two hours at one location hoping for a spot on the next one keeping in mind the trolley ends at 5. So you can’t get off to see all the sites on the trolley with the way it operates if you wanted to do that.

This was a great opportunity to see the area. I recommend it to see the town and the river.

The trolley ran late almost the entire day and they only came every hour. It was very hard to see much when you had to wait so long in-between trolleys. Other than that, the driver was knowledge, friendly, and helpful.

This was our first time to Portland and with only a few days the was the BEST money spent! We to the Gorge bus tour one day caught the trolley the same afternoon. This helped us plan our next day stops from the trolley! Would definitely use this option on a return visit.

Columbia River Gorge tour was excellent! The Trolley was good, but really didn't allow enough time to see everything. It should definitely run later than 4:00 during the summer. I would recommend riding the Trolley from start to finish without getting off. You need to spend several hours at some stops in order to see everything.

Covered a whole lot of the area in a relatively short time. The driver was very knowledgeable and very interesting with the on board commentary. The Trolley sightseeing should be mandatory and there is so much value that we sat on the trolley for one complete circuit before we decided what to do. The local knowledge added to the excitement of the tour.

Didn't use the hop on hop off... the Columbia river Gorge Tour was Fantastic. Highly recommend it. We had a great driver - May, she was excellent - entertaining and also full of local information.
