Visit: The Living Desert Zoo and Gardens, Palm Desert, Greater Palm Springs, California
The Living Desert is a zoo and botanical conservation park. We have over 450 different animals with boasting over 2,000 unique flora and fauna species within our botanical gardens. Our park showcases the unique and diverse desert animals of North America and Africa.
The Living Desert operates from 9am-5pm October through May, and 8am-1:30pm June through September. Your ticket includes admission to the park and the opportunity to check out this list of daily programming:
9:00- 9:30 am - Giraffe Feeding
9:30 am - Animal Presentation at the Wildlife Hospital
10:00 am - Reptile show at Village Watutu
11:00-11:30 am - Giraffe Feeding
12:00 pm - Animal Presentation at the Discovery Center

This was one of our best zoo visits ever! The Living Desert was small and easy to get around. We felt very connected to the animals because we could see them up close. The small garden walks dotting the park put you right in the middle of different ecosystems. And the huge miniature train set was very entertaining. Fun and educational!

This was one of the best adventure we have had on our vacation. The animals are in their natural habitat and the train set- up in the front of the park was awesome. We had a new experience feeding giraffes.

Very interesting, enjoyable walk through. It's much larger than expected, and a lot of various animals throughout the entire desert.

We loved seeing all the animals in their desert habitat! The display of cacti was incredible. Our grandchildren really enjoyed this experience - so glad they had a petting zoo to allow them some in-touch time.
