This unique, 5-hour photo tour begins in Waikiki with a hotel pickup in a spacious, air-conditioned van. The sunrise tour departs from the hotel an hour before the sun comes up, then a drive to a spectacular beach for a breathtaking view of the sun at dawn as it appears on the horizon with splashing waves and tide pools.
After sunrise we stop for a quick breakfast and continue our tour stopping at 5-6 different locations around the east side of the Oahu. Learn how to use light, and discover what framing, shutter speed, focal points and other important topics mean to composing a great image. Then explore the best places ─ and find the best angles ─ in which to take pictures on this breathtaking island. It’s the best of both worlds: a tour with an experienced local guide who shares their knowledge of the Hawaiian history and culture and a mini photo lesson with some of the most beautiful scenery in the world for a postcard-perfect sunrise. Along the way, learn about Hawaii’s history, its wildlife and the geography from the naturalist guide who is not only an expert in photography, but also a Hawaii insider with an in-depth knowledge of the island of Oahu.
This photography tour is suitable for all skill levels ─ from beginners to advanced shooters, using everything from smartphones to high-end DSLR cameras. At the end of the tour, walk away with some incredible sunrise images, an abundance of professional photography tips that will last a lifetime and an appreciation of Oahu’s rich history and culture. We had a great morning together with our guide Marie. She showed us several different places where we got to photograph. She also showed us settings on the cameras and what we would think of when we took pictures. We highly recommend this trip.

Absolutely superb tour. Evan obviously has a great passion for photography and Hawaii and took us to some great locations. At each location, he explained the best camera settings and made me realise I've got a lot more to learn. I ended up with some really good photos of Oahu.

Our guide was very good about showing us ways to use our camera's to get more interesting pictures while taking them. Very helpful for people interested in learning more about what a camera can do. It was great that they had tri-pods to use to help get great photos. Liked the spots we went to to get different types of photos plus a chance to see more natural parts of the island.

Was a nice activity/tour but I felt that more time was spent by one photographer/guide of him doing a photo shoot of 2 tour participants and therefore limiting the time spent engaging with the remainder of us on the tour.

Had a wonderful time on the sunrise photography tour. Marie is extremely helpful and patient and had so many helpful tips. She took time to get to know everyone's skill level and interests. She had suggestions for the areas we visited on the tour and gave pointers that'll help beyond the tour.

I enjoyed this tour immensely so much that I followed up with the Island Tour afterwards. Marie was a very competent guide - be it with things to now or to do on O'ahu or - of course - how to get the most out of our photo shoots. The people on the tours had very different cameras and were on different levels of knowledge and expertise. I am a novice and learned very valuable basics, but also got to try some advanced technicques. We stopped at very interesting places and even though the first tour was drenched in rain - it was great fun. I definitely recommend this tour!
