At New York City's Penn Station, board your comfortable train and travel 230 miles (370 km) to Union Station in Washington DC. Upon arrival, you will meet your tour representative and receive a voucher for lunch at the food court. After enjoying lunch on your own, hop onto your double-decker bus sightseeing tour.
Stay on board the bus for the entire 2-hour tour to learn all about Washington DC's history and major landmarks, or hop on and off as you wish to capture amazing photos of iconic sights and tour them independently. Admire the White House and US Capitol, and see the Lincoln Memorial, Vietnam Veterans Memorial, Korean War Memorial, and US Marine Corps War (Iwo Jima) Memorial. Check out the lively Georgetown University neighborhood, see Embassy Row, and visit the staggering collection at the Library of Congress. Take in the solemn spectacle of thousands of grave markers at Arlington National Cemetery reflecting the high cost of war.

Beautiful city one day isn't enough to see all there is to see. Felt like we had a rushed day take time to go and stay there for a couple of days it is well worth it.

Overall a good trip.
Much better seeing Washington from NYC on the train as it saves a lot of time and the train is a LOT comfier! Fast and free wifi also.
Areas of improvement:
-The tour was basically tickets for the hop on hop off bus- so not exactly a guided tour. Would pay more for a fully guided option.
-Had to pickup the tickets day before after 430pm but before 730pm- which meant we had to cut that day short. Would be better if the tickets could be emailed to us as there was no reason it could not have been.-One of our meal vouchers did not work. Hence we had to spend $11 when the voucher should have worked. They said the vouchers had been used already which we had not.
Area we liked:
-Train option is fast and comfy.
-Guides when present on the bus was informative.
-routes taken by bus seemed good and was frequent.
-Ticket collection at train station was easy and person was helpful. -
If you want to see Washington its worth the train trip 3 hours each way from New York City. For us it was well worth it.

Tickets were not available when we went to the supplier. Returned several hours later and still no tickets. Had to return a third time to finally get them. Frustrating; however, the trip itself was good. Enjoyed DC very much.

A comprehensive and easy-to-do self-navigational tour. A long day, but would highly recommend.

Its worth going to Washington as there are many sights to see. the train left around 8:00 so we got their at lunchtime. The only problem we had was that the train going back to New York was at 19:30 and you can not go on a n earlier train, so this makes it a very long day.

A great trip but the day we chose happened to be extremely cold. Other than that it was a lovely and comfortable train ride and the 'hop on hop off' bus was good too. Thank you :)
- It was a very long day but worth the effort.
- We did not have any time to go around the different places, but I did see it all by going on the bus. If I went again I would stay in Washington for a few days to look around properly!
- A fantastic trip! What a beautiful city. The hop on hop off was a fantastic way to see all the sights. Pity there isn't an express train so there is more time to spend there.
