Your day trip starts with departure from Manhattan by deluxe coach. During the approximate 2-hour drive to the North Fork of Long Island, watch the landscape change as you approach your destination, where you will meet your knowledgeable guide upon arrival.With scenic views of Long Island Sound and Peconic Bay, the bucolic North Fork wine region is home to vineyards, of course, as well as apple orchards and potato farms. Spend about 5.5 hours here, visiting two local wineries for a wine tasting at each. In between, enjoy lunch at A Lure, a casual waterfront chowder house located at the landmark Port of Egypt Marina that serves fresh fish and other seafood.After your day in the country, return to Manhattan in the evening.

Diliberto Winery and Pugliese VineyardsOn arrival at Diliberto Winery, take a seat on the covered patio, with views of the manicured lawn and vineyard, or in the tasting room with its Tuscan-style cafe mural. Sip Diliberto wines such as sauvignon blanc, merlot and ros□, served by the knowledgeable staff.After lunch, visit Pugliese Vineyards, a family-owned and operated winery that features exceptional wines, many estate-bottled. Enjoy a flight, with your choice of award-winning varietals like chardonnay, cabernet sauvignon, pinot noir, riesling or zinfandel.Martha Clara Vineyards and Osprey’s Dominion VineyardsA former potato farm turned thoroughbred horse farm before its final transformation into 100 acres (40 hectares) of vines, Martha Clara Vineyards has come a long way since its beginnings. Taste sustainably grown varietals and a broad range of wines for all types of palates.After lunch, you’re taken to Osprey’s Dominion Vineyards. Learn about the complexity of the terroir and how it contributes to the quality and character of the grapes as you sample award-winning wines in the tasting room. Keep an eye out for the namesake raptor soaring above the vineyard.Raphael Vineyards and Macari VineyardsAt Raphael Vineyards, sample its ripe, fruit-driven wines that exhibit depth, elegance and balance. Designed by owner John Petrocelli after the Italian monasteries of his ancestral home, the winery blends classic Mediterranean architecture with modern winemaking equipment in its production facility.Following lunch, head to Macari Vineyards, a 500-acre (202-hectare) waterfront estate in Mattituck. This family-owned winery on former potato fields produces wine using biodynamic methods.
