Tour sights include Washington Square Park; Lower Fifth Avenue; the Jefferson Market Library; charming Abingdon Square Park; the garden of the Church of St. Luke in the Fields; the oldest wood-frame house in Greenwich Village and the narrowest house in New York City and much more.
The tour begins in Washington Square Park, at the base of the 1892 Washington Arch. We move along Lower Fifth Avenue to see two historic NeoGothic-styled churches, including the First Presbyterian Church.
See the Village’s most eclectic building, the Jefferson Market Library, and learn why a famous murder trial was held in the building. Cross paths with the unusual intersection of West 10th Street and West Fourth Street.
Take a stroll stroll through charming Abingdon Square Park, and then walk along the street that Simon & Garfinkle immortalized in their song, Bleecker Street. Today’s high-end boutiques that line the street are a far cry from the 1960s when the song was written.
Greenwich Village is a quirky mix of quiet streets and charming townhouses. We will see the oldest wood-frame house in Greenwich Village, as well as the narrowest house in New York City.
We will visit a section of the Village that was once a thriving neighborhood of Italian immigrants. Its anchor, the 1928 Italian Renaissance-styled Church of Our Lady of Pompeii, is still an active part of the community.
We will walk along a charming lane that gets its name from an underground brook before we see the house where Louisa May Alcott lived. We will take in the sights along the south side of Washington Square Park. Before we re-enter the park, and see a spectacular view of One Fifth Avenue and the Giuseppe Garibaldi Monument, where the tour will end.行程概要出發地點
