On this tour you will experience the best of both: a swamp tour and an airboat ride.You will travel at high speeds in the airboat then slow down and stop for pictures. Along the way, you will get a personal tour by your local Captain. These airboats have stadium seating, so that the person in front of you does not obstruct your view. Every airboat seat is great for experiencing the tour and viewing the wildlife. Yes, gators will get close, real close. So close that you will be able to look into those reptilian eyes.
Alligators do hibernate in the colder months, but the experienced captains know where to look for them. On average, during the winter, you have better than a 50/50 chance of seeing a gator. In the warmer months, you will always see a gator. Every New Orleans Airboat Tour is unique and you never know what will be around the next corner. The area toured is a combination of Swamp, Marsh and Lake. So you may see anything from a Bald Eagle to a Pelican to Osprey our even an Owl, its that diverse. The airboats are driven by a 454 Chevy Engine that will produce speeds of up to 35 miles an hour. They are propelled by a huge fan that will blow air from the back of the boat in excess of 200 miles an hour. These tours are truly a blast! They ride in inches of water and go places where traditional boats cannot go. The boats were designed to take you to inaccessible areas of the swamp, places that you cannot reach by foot or car. This was an amazing excursion! Our guide, Rocky, was very knowledgeable and entertaining..... he made sure to get ya up close to the alligators and made efforts to try and track other animals for us to see! The small airboat excursion is the nest way to go if you don’t mind paying a little extra.... the group is smaller and more intimate so you get more personalized attention! Thank you Rocky!!

The bus ride out to the swamp airboat tour was way too long, so many stops and for long periods of time. We were on the bus for 1 1/2 hours. Coming back was much better.

The tour was awesome! Best part of our trip to the Cresent City. The staff was great and we learned all about the area and about the gators.

This was, by far, the most fun tour in my NOLA vacation (our if 8). Our tour guide, Chaz, was funny and phenomenal. Thanks for the experience!

First off I'd like to say the actual tour was AMAZING!! We saw a bunch of gators and our guide was wonderful!! He was informative and made the tour a lot of fun!! I would definitely do this tour again!!! HOWEVER, we were supposed to be picked up and dropped off at our hotel. This did not happen! I got a phone call 20 minutes before pickup stating they couldn't come get us since there was too much traffic and we would need to walk to a pickup area. So we used google and walked the 2 blocks over and 4 blocks up that we were told to walk to. All along the way we saw maybe 2 or 3 cars. Needless to say there was NO traffic. Then at our drop off it had started pouring rain and the RUDE driver dropped everyone off right off a main road. It was as if he was wanting to get home in a hurry. He told most of them which way to go and how far. When we got to our stop he opened the door and just glared at us as we got off!! No directions or anything!! Now mind you we did tip and thank him on the way in even though he made us walk a ways to get the shuttle. Other then that there was NO talking since he would snap at you if you asked a question. After our tour I went to ask him if he was our ride back and he snapped at me " I dont know you, where are you going!" If this company states it will pick you up and drop you off at your hotel they should do that! They need to get rid of this driver and replace him with someone who wants to do their job! I would have given 5+ stars if not for the rudeness of the shuttle driver!!

Highly recommend this tour. I have not done the Large Boat Tour but from my understanding they are limited where they can go. We were able to go into very small tight locations. Our guide Brad was very knowledgable of the area and showed us at least 10 alligators plus much other swamp wildlife.

I really enjoyed the swamp tour. It is worth it to do the Airboat. Fun, beautiful sights and you can really feel like you are about to be eaten by a gator....just kidding.

Paco was our guide, knew his stuff!! Amazing boat ride, small airboat is they way to go, you can see so much more.So so so much fun!!!!

The tour was so much fun. Our guide Rocky was fantastic. Everything we expected and more. Very informative as well.
