    產品介紹

Make your way to the meeting point at a convenient location in the French Quarter. Board your comfortable air-conditioned coach and listen as your local guide shares the history of New Orleans, starting with how the site of the original French settlement of 1718 grew into the city we know today.
Travel to several neighborhoods including the Lakeview, Gentilly, St Bernard, and Ninth Ward, which were hit hard by Hurricane Katrina, considered the most destructive Atlantic tropical cyclone of 2005. Your guide takes you past one of the breached levees, such as the 17th Street Canal in Lakeview, the London Avenue Canal in Gentilly, or the Mississippi River Gulf Outlet (MRGO) and Industrial Canal in the Ninth Ward. See the high water marks, memorials and vacant lots in these neighborhoods.
During your tour, your guide explains the connections between disappearing coastal wetlands, oil and gas pipelines, levee protection systems and the destruction in New Orleans.
You also see several rebuilding efforts including the Make It Right houses in the Lower Ninth Ward, an innovative project founded by actor Brad Pitt. In the same area, pass by famous musician Fats Domino’s house, which was badly damaged in the floodwaters and later restored. Continue alongside a community for musicians who lost their houses in the hurricane; called Musician’s Village, the project was conceived of by Branford Marsalis and Harry Connick Jr along with Habitat for Humanity.
Then take in the Hurricane Katrina Memorial, which memorializes the 1,100 people who died in the hurricane, one of the greatest natural and man-made disasters in US history. Also, hear about the importance of the port of New Orleans and stretch your legs when you stop at New Orleans City Park for a short break.
After three and a half hours, you are returned to your starting point where your tour ends.

I took about 10 different tours when I visited NOLA for the first time -- and this was one of them. And this tour is my TOP choice for all tourists to take. I was in college during Hurricane Katrina and I saw the devastation in-between classes on the TV. But this tour gives you an inside look about the true cause of Katrina's devastation and you hear about all of it from a local.

Before this tour, I never knew what a hatchet under the bed meant. Those in NOLA believe that Katrina was a man made disaster -- which I always agreed with -- but you will see with your own eyes how our government failed the amazing people of New Orleans and repeatedly ignored problems that could have saved lives and prevented a disaster of this magnitude. You will visit the spot where the levee broke and see a lighthouse that was crumbled in the storm. You'll hear firsthand account of the storm and how many New Orleans residents ended up leaving for good -- while many volunteers ended up staying for good.

This tour gives a sad yet fascinating story and truth of Katrina. Do not miss it.

Was quite an interesting tour. Parts of the 9th Ward are still being rebuilt and its crazy to see the water level of how high the storm surge reached. Was quite a reflective tour, and on a hot day the AC in the bus was quite refreshing. The tour guide provided a folio of photographs from the devastation as well as what happened to her house, all quite sobering. Definitely a must-see tour if you are interested on the effects of Katrina.

This was the best tour that we did in New Orleans. It was so informative and we learned so much about Katrina and New Orleans that we didn't know. Our Guide gave us first hand stories about Katrina, as he was part of it. He was informative, unbiased and so knowledgeable . If i was to go to New Orleans again I would do this tour a second time.

  • Corey B (2018-04-02)5

Our guide was lovely and really knowledgeable, she actually lived through Hurricane Katrina which gives a real personal touch to the tour.

  • James P (2018-03-24)5

Our guide was very knowledgeable, having been a reporter that covered Katrina. Guide was personable, answered questions, and painted vivid images as we went through the tour. The tour was excellent, worth the money, and I highly recommend it. Darren the bus driver was great as well!!

Bruce Nolan, a retired journalist, was our tour guide. He was GREAT. Very articulate, knowledgeable and professional. One of the highlights was going to City Park and walking through the sculpture garden. This is a very good way to understand the devastation of Hurricane Katrina and how New Orleans survived. If we could have spent 20-30 more minutes at City Park during the 3.5 hour tour, it would have been perfect for me.

Excellent tour! Bill Capo, our guide, was the best. He loves New Orleans and knows hurricane Katrina extensively having lived through it.
He shared himself. The only little, itty bitty negative was he never came up for air. He needs to take a little breather from talking...
I would recommend this tour in a heartbeat and if you get Bill. Thats even better.

  • Cheryl W (2018-03-05)5

What an eye opener this tour was! Mr. Bill was the perfect guide a former newsman who actually worked on TV during this whole catastrophe. He gave us insights, feelings, behind-the-scenes tidbits that we found fascinating. I would do this tour again it was so good and I can't imagine a more informed, compassionate guide than Mr. Bill!
