This is a typical itinerary for this product
Stop At: Napa Valley Wine Train, Napa, Napa Valley, California
Travel through the lush Napa Valley countryside and be transported back in time. Back to the romance and luxury of the golden age of train travel of the early 1900s, when guests explored the trains beyond their private quarters. Back to a time when a journey was meant to be savored from start to finish. Guests aboard the Gourmet Express experience both dining and lounge service, with some courses of your gourmet meal served in each car.
Heading North, first seating guests begin their journey in the dining car, enjoying their fresh Sonoma greens or soup du jour and choice of entr□e─roasted tenderloin of beef, lemon thyme roasted chicken, or gemelli pasta among them─followed by dessert with complimentary coffee or tea in one of the lounge cars on the return trip.
Second seating guests sample appetizers and beverages in one of our lounge cars en route to St. Helena, and choice of soup or salad, entr□e, and dessert on the way back to the station. Fresh California gourmet meals are crafted by Executive Chef Donald Young and his passionate culinary team in one of three onboard kitchens. Located immediately next to each dining area, guests are encouraged to explore the Train and visit the kitchen cars and see our chefs in action.
Choose the Gourmet Express for lunch, when the sun is bright and high in the sky. Or for something even more romantic, join us onboard for evening dinner. In the spring and summer, the long, warm California twilight means that when you take your Wine Train journey, Napa Valley’s vineyards are bathed in beautiful, golden hour sunlight for most of the way, with the opportunity to see some spectacular Napa sunsets. In the Fall and the Winter, when the train departs after sunset, you will experience the romance and adventure of an antique train traveling through the dark, starlit Napa Valley night.
In the spirit of traditional rail seating, you may share the experience─and a table─with another party. Need a bit of privacy? Private seating is available in the Champagne Vista Dome on dinner trains and some private tables (for two) are available on lunch trains.

Very organized. The ride itself was a good introduction to the Napa Valley but you missed a golden opportunity to tell the passengers about the wine industry, either through your guides or prerecorded tapes. There was virtually no information from the staff along the entire route. The food was excellent. Give your passengers more than just food.

We were very disappointed! Food was good but whilst we were eating our lunch the view consisted of an unkept garden at the train station, followed by badly kept real estate with plenty of graffiti. We found the staff preoccupied with their own thoughts. Sonoma County has plenty of gluten free bread and dessert shops who Im sure would be pleased to work with the Napa Valley Wine Train, the gluten free options on the train were extremely limited and of poor quality, we ordered a gluten free menu several weeks prior to our visit. We were moved to the observation car to await our dessert, desserts sat in an open table for 30 mins with people brushing past them before they were delivered to the tables. We paid almost 700.00 for 4 of us this included a photo as we embarked, We had a designated driver and It would have been a nice touch to give designated drivers a complimentary bottle of wine at the end of the tour. We also made an effort to respect the casual smart dress code, guy in front of me had flip flops and cut offs. So, would we do this again, no, would we suggest the tour to others, no.

This was an awesome little adventure. I am planning to bring a friend next time I am on the west coast.

The train ride was beautiful. The food was very good. The fire did not get to the route that you are going to take with the train so it is all green with many wineries on the way.

We had a very nice time and really enjoyed the wine train. Service was excellent and made you feel special. The weather was perfect and would do this again. Our only disappointment was when the couple we were traveling with couldn't make it at the last minute due to a medical problem. Too late for a refund.

It was a wonderful trip with spectucalar views of vineyards and wine cellars. The Pullman cars were very beautiful and comfortable. the meal was delicious. The service was excellent, as was the Wine! Enjoy the photo below!

I truly enjoyed the Napa Valley Wine Train ride.
The experience has made my Mother's birthday celebration one of the most memorable moments of her life.
The ambiance was perfect, good food, wonderful fellowship, and most importantly, the customer service was superb!
I recommended the Wine Train to family and friends and hope their experience is as good as ours.

It was a good trip but not great. I did it so my husband could relax and not have to drive. I think I still prefer to drive, stop where you want to relax and eat. The food was good but the portions were small. Part mof the fun in the wine country was trying wine which we did not do on the train.

My wife and I took the Napa Valley Wine Train with Gourmet Lunch and truly enjoyed the experience. The comfort of the vintage cars was great and so were the food and drinks offered on board. The service was excellent both on the lounge car and the dining room car.The only thing we found a little steep was the price but ....I guess you get what you pay for!

The staff aboard the train were wonderful! Definitely make sure to tip in cash, they earn it. A nice scenic, slow ride, great food. The ride gave us an idea which wineries we wanted to see in person.
