Start your 6.5-hour Hoover Dam tour with hotel pickup from selected Las Vegas hotels. Hop aboard the air-conditioned vehicle for transport to Hoover Dam, an approximate 45-minute drive away. En route, your guide enlightens your small group with encyclopedic knowledge on all aspects of Hoover Dam and its history.
On arrival, you’ll begin with a Powerplant tour. Travel 524 feet (160 meters) into the walls of Black Canyon to view the Nevada Powerwing, generators and a 30-foot-diameter (9-meter) pipe inside one of the four diversion tunnels.
Next, head into the Hoover Dam Visitor Center where you can see the history of Hoover Dam and view numerous exhibits that explain how the dam was built, how it operates and who benefits from the water and electricity.
Then take a fully guided Walk on the Top tour ─ a comprehensive 45-minute walking tour over the top of the dam. You will also take a stop at the new bypass bridge to see the dam from above, from a distance, before enjoying an early afternoon lunch at a restaurant on the way back to Las Vegas (see menu options below).

Jason our guide provided a very funny, informed and enjoyable Hoover Dam Tour. His patter was amusing if sometimes a little hard for a Baby Boomer to follow. We stopped with plenty of time to view Hoover Dam and the exhibits. Could have used a little more time to walk the O’Callaghan-Tillman Bridge. Lunch was hot and delicious. Gary was a skilled, careful driver. Would recommend this as a fine tour of Hoover Dam but budget a full day.

We had Trevor (Trez) as a guide. He was awesome! Very funny and knowledgeable. He made the trip very enjoyable. It was well organized and lunch was great. Highly recommend it!

Steve (the driver) and Trez were both very friendly, had great comradeship and good energy. Trez gave out information along the way and included some comedy in his delivery. It was very easy listening and pleasant. The actually dam was great to see up close and walk around although we didn’t make it on the first elevator down to the power plant tour portion so we got separated from the group (limited space) and had less time to mingle around the top area afterward, to take pictures, see the old dam model, gift shop etc. So that felt very rushed and wasn’t ideal but we still enjoyed seeing what we did. Then we went up to walk on the overpass bridge and you get about 30 min to walk up the path and get that perspective of the dam and see the state line if you hurry! We stopped at a restaurant on the way back which was decent and very organized and we were in and out. Overall great experience, would recommend :)

Our tour guide Trevor was extremely knowledgeable and entertaining, and Steve did a great job maneuvering the tour bus. Was an amazing visit which I highly recommend.

I saw a documentary on the Hoover Dam a few years ago so it was cool to check out the place for real! The tour was fun from the start and filled with random bits of information. I went by myself and enjoyed the tour! :)

Our guide, Jason, was awesome!! /Very informative about the trip on the way and knew a lot about the dam and how and when it came about. Very impressive. I would recommend the trip to residents as well as out of town guests.

Our guide, Jason, was very entertaining and knew all we needed to know about Hoover Dam. Steve, our driver, maneuvered our tour bus with great expertise. Lunch wasn't bad, either. We had plenty of time to take the tour of the dam, then walk on top of the dam, go to gift shop, etc...All in all, a great experience .

Had wonderful and funny tour guide. He was knowledgeable and made the bus ride to and from the Hoover dam very enjoyable. The lunch provided was at a restaurant and was delicious. Would definitely recommend this tour with Comedy on deck to my friends!

The lunch was vile next time skip it just offer up snacks to the group. That lunch was the worst part of the trip

I recommend this tour it was absolutely amazing. Steve the bus driver and Trevor the tour guide were exceptional. They made it informational, fun and very enjoyable. Oh and the lunch was great too!
