Departing Lihue by private minivan, your full-day tour is led by a private guide who will tell you about Kauai's history and culture throughout the day.
Make your first stop at the Menehune Fishpond (for Lihue departures only), where you'll learn about the mythical Menehune people and discover rare features of the pond, built on a freshwater river rather than the ocean shoreline. Next, head to the Kauai Coffee Company, the largest coffee plantation in the country, with four million trees on 3,100 acres. At the visitor center, sample a variety of coffee, and then take a short tour through rows of coffee trees to learn about the harvesting and drying process. Back at the gift shop, you can taste roasted coffee beans dipped in chocolate and purchase coffee to take home.
Leaving the plantation, drive through historical Hanapepe, the model for the town featured in the animated Disney movie Lilo and Stitch. Pass by restored buildings now occupied by art galleries, and then continue toward Waimea town. Your guide takes you past the Russian Fort Elizabeth, established in 1815, before stopping at the statue of Captain James Cook, which marks his first landfall in Hawaii.
Make your way up the mountain to Waimea Canyon, stopping for a photo op at a viewpoint on the way. From here you can see the Forbidden Island of Niihau. Our next stop is the Waimea Canyon main lookout and then we continue up the road to view Waipo'o Falls, where you can pose for pictures with the waterfall behind you.
Your next stop is Kalalau Lookout, which boasts views (weather permitting) of the magnificent cliffs of Kalalau Valley extending to the Pacific coastline far below. As you head back down the mountain, arrive at the once-thriving sugar-plantation town of Kekaha, and drive along Hawaii’s longest beach, which extends 15 miles (24 km).
Stop at a local diner for a Hawaiian barbecue lunch (own expense), or ask your guide to make other recommendations. After lunch, you’re taken to Poipu Beach Resort to see the Spouting Horn, where ocean waves enter a lava tube and create a geyser up to 100 feet (30 meters) in the air. You can also observe sea turtles in a cove.
Pass by Mt Waialeale on the way to your final stop of the day, Wailua Falls (for Lihue, Wailua and Kapaa departures only), which you may recognize from the opening credits of the TV show Fantasy Island. Admire the beautiful sight of the twin waterfalls cascading 170 feet into the stream below before arriving back in Lihue, where your tour ends.行程概要出發地點

This tour provides access to sites that you might otherwise miss or not think to visit. John, the guide, was very knowledgeable and told us many interesting facts about the Hawaiian culture. Loved this tour!

John Anderson is an excellent tour guide, full of information and knowing just where to stop. We were treated to ‘extras’ like a great taco place for lunch, great time and viewing spot to see sea turtles, yummy shave ice, etc. you won’t be disappointed to book this trip!

This tour was like hanging out for a day with family who is showing off the place he lives in and loves. Our guide was easy-going, punctual, professional (mercifully void of the cute jokes other tour operators feel they need to fill space), knowledgable (but humble and willing to say when he didn't know something), and accommodating to reasonable requests.

This was an absolutely fabulous tour. So much more than we expected! Our private van was on time and ready to go. He gave us options when some cloud cover got in the way. He was a wealth of knowledge of the island. Our guide offered a number of options, patiently, in choosing a lunch location. He allowed us a bit of shopping time and I can't believe there is anything on the island he didn't show us! Take the tour, it was worth every penny!

John was an excellent guide who gave us a lot of running commentary on all aspects of Kauai culture and people. We enjoyed Kauai Coffee Company immensely and learned a lot!! Waimea Canyon was clouded over, but with John's eagle eye, we returned to the main overlook and were able to see the beautiful cascading waterfall. We had a nice lunch, visited some shops, checked out a swinging bridge, and saw a sea turtle and a monk seal on the beach at Poipu Beach Park. We HIGHLY recommend this tour.

This was a fantastic trip. John was our guide and he was very knowledgeable about the island. The tour encompassed so many different places and he knew how the best sights to see and how to see them. He and Elena worked with us to accommodate a last minute schedule change without impacting our trip. Would highly recommend it!

Elena was fantastic! She took us EVERYWHERE! She gave excellent information about Kauai and did not leave out one stop. She even took us for shave ice. We had a fantastic time and felt like we got a very in-depth look at the island of Kauai. Absolutely gorgeous! We HIGHLY recommend them!!
