Hold on for a safe and exhilarating river-rafting experience on this Mendenhall Glacier rafting tour from Juneau! As you travel at the foot of the spectacular Mendenhall Glacier, you’ll be awed by views of towering mountains, forests and wildlife.
Your tour begins with a scenic drive up Mendenhall Valley. When you reach the shore of Mendenhall Lake, don protective raingear and a lifejacket, and board your raft. Each raft holds up to 12 and is rowed by an experienced guide. If you’re looking for a hands-on experience, you may join a paddle-raft team.
Glide across the iceberg-studded lake, marveling at the 1.5-mile-wide (2.4 km) glacier, and set course downstream on a connected river. The 6-mile (9.6-km) route combines winding stretches of water with Class II and III whitewater rapids. The rapids are perfectly safe exciting for beginners and experienced rafters, and appropriate for all ages.
During the journey, encounter river features such as Tourist Trap, Moon Flats and Pin Ball Alley. Watch for the photographer on shore who will snap your picture, capturing the thrill of your adventure. The raft lasts approx. 1.5 to 2 hours.
When the river feeds into the lake and the rapids end, soak in the views of the riverbank, lush forests and 7,000-foot (2,134-meter) mountains rising above the valley floor. Learn about the natural history of the river, and keep your eyes open for bald eagles, birds nesting in rocky cliffs, black bears, otters and seals, and salmon during spawning season.
At the finish point, celebrate with an Alaskan-style snack and toast your adventure with a cup of Martha’s Mendenhall Madness (a strong wine cocktail) or hot cider. You can purchase the action photo of yourself as a lasting memento of a trip you’ll never forget.行程概要出發地點

If your ship is docked at the AJ dock, a shuttle is available to the Mt. Roberts Tram area. It is approximately $3.00 for an all-day pass. All other docks are within walking distance of the Tram area.
If you are arriving on a cruise ship where tendering is required, please allow extra time to make your way ashore.
Take careful note of your tour departure time noted above and please be at the designated location 15 minutes prior to departure time.
When you arrive at the meeting area, look for the Alaska Travel Adventures tour representative. They will be wearing a red jacket/shirt and a red hat. Look for our distinctive Caribou logo. Have your tour voucher ready to show the representative so that they can direct you to the appropriate transportation.

We had a wonderful time on this excursion. Dominic our guide was excellent. He gave us a lot of information and did a great job getting us down the river. We saw a beaver and eagles. Everyone on the raft had a great time! I would recommend this excursion it was not an aggressive river at all and it was very safe.

this was a fantastic trip down the river. Day was sunny and bright, weather was great. Smooth and uneventful ride down the river. Rapids were exciting. Our guide was Alvin and he provides us a wonderful trip, full of lots of fun facts. Would recommend to all.

This is a float trip and the participants don't have oars. You sit for two hours. There are a couple of rapids but for the most part it is smooth water. This was not what I thought we signed up for.

Even though it rained, the rafting tour was very enjoyable due in part to Rex, our GREAT tour guide. The scenery was amazing and the rapids were thrilling but not to point of death defying! Our group was pretty lively and we gained knowledge and friends.I think you will enjoy it even if you are a beginner, as I was.
