When your cruise ship docks at the Juneau port, walk an easy 10 minutes to Mt Roberts Tramway, where you'll hop on a comfortable coach for a Juneau sightseeing tour. Enjoy views of stunning mountains and winding waterways as you travel from the colorful port and see sites such as the Red Dog Saloon, the busy Juneau Capitol Building, the Governor's Mansion and beautiful Douglas Island. This unique modern capital city with an old-world charm has a new surprise around every corner.
After your city tour, you’ll be driven to Auke Bay to board a boat for your 2-hour whale-watching cruise. Enjoy gorgeous ocean views as your professional guide helps point out whales and other wildlife such as bald eagles, seals, sea lions and black bears. Watch for humpback whales and playful orcas when you spot one, the captain will slow the boat to allow for photo opportunities from the viewing deck. Snacks and drinks will be provided on board.
When you return to the port, hop back on the coach and head to Mendenhall Glacier to explore independently at your leisure. Juneau’s crowning jewel treasure, Mendenhall Glacier is one of 38 glaciers flowing from the giant 1,500-square-mile (3,885-sq-km) ice field.
Capture vistas of the glacier from several perspectives such as Nugget Creek Falls and Photo Point Trail, which winds along Mendenhall Lake and offers an unobstructed view of the glacier's face. At the Mendenhall Glacier Visitor Center, you can learn about glacier formation through a series of interactive geological exhibits.
When you’re ready to leave, hop on the shuttle and head back to the Juneau port.
The shuttle departs every 30 minutes, so you determine the time you return to your ship in Juneau. Please allow yourself ample time to enjoy your time at Mendenhall Glacier and ensure your timely return to the port. This excursion is not covered by our worry-free policy.

The Mendenhall Glacier was amazon. the City Tour was very informative but the Whale watching was out of this world. Seeing Humpback whale bubble feeding is the most special thing that has ever happen too me. I seen a lot of humpback whale but never feeding like that.

Local people outstanding. Having booked other excursions directly with cruise line, hands down this one directly with local people not employed by cruise line was by far the best one of entire trip. The pricing was also better as the proverbial middle man, I.e.cruise line was not in the mix! Kudos for a job well done!

Whale watching experience was fantastic. We observed the whales breaching jumping out of the sea. Tour guides were very informative. Mendenhall Glacier was a great sight to see. City tour was OK.

This is a wonderful way to see all three parts of Juneau in a day. We toured the city, visited the glacier and went whale watching on a sunny day. The guides were great and we learned a lot in short amount of time.
Did we see whales - yes!! and sea lions as well.Thank you for a great experience. -
Most importantly, we saw whales! The excursion was well co-ordinated. All of the people were friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. The boat itself was brand new.

The excursion itself gets five stars from me. It was great and definitely worth doing. Whale watching was amazing, we saw lots of whales including orcas and humpbacks and the crew on the whale watching boat were very knowledgeable. Exploring Mendenhall Glacier was fun as well. Overall, this excursion was one of the highlights of our trip to Alaska and I would definitely recommend it.
On the other hand, the tour company's ground staff leave something to be desired, and is why I'm giving this review three stars overall. The day got off to a bad start when we found out that the meeting point Mount Roberts Tramway was actually quite far from our cruise ship terminal and we'd need to catch a bus there, even though the receipt said it was in walking distance. After catching the bus, we went to meet someone from Juneau Whale Watch, only to be told we needed to walk over to somewhere completely different. We walked around in circles for a while until someone from a competing company told us that we actually did speak to the right person initially. We went back to them and they didn't even apologise.
Due to their mistake, we couldn't actually start the tour until an hour after the time we were scheduled to start, which caused us to miss out on the city tour as there wasn't enough time left for it in the day. Ground staff said that we'd need to speak to Viator to get a partial refund, but Viator said we need to speak to Juneau Whale Watch. We did eventually get that sorted, but it's really not something I wanted to deal with during a holiday.
If you're lucky enough to talk to competent staff, this is worth doing.

This excursion doesn't have a rating of 0 because that is what they would recieve. Drivers surly parting with personal views rather than facts, shared limited knowledge of the area and he is a local, more and closer whales were seen from my ship than this waste of time. BUYER BEWARE . . . the whale watching Juneau excursion was horrible for almost 400 for two people! We have used Viator many times in Europe and found those excursions quite pleasant. I will really think twice before using your company again.

Thoroughly enjoyed. Yes, we did see some whales! The Glacier was worth seeing as well. Recommend.
