Make your way to the dock in Clayton and board the boat for this 3-hour tour along the St Lawrence River, which straddles the border between Canada and the United States. Pass the reconstructed railway station in Clayton that was once the gateway for the rich and famous on their way to lavish vacations in the area.
Cruise along the scenic St Lawrence River as the guide points out the beautiful historic mansions on the Canadian and American sides. Listen to fascinating historical tales. Stop at Heart Island and check out Boldt Castle, begun in 1900 by George Boldt, then the general manager of the Waldorf-Astoria hotel in New York City. Construction stopped when Boldt’s wife passed away in 1904. Some years later, construction recommenced, and today it’s one of America’s great fortresses. Take a self-guided tour of the mansion (own expense) and learn all about its history.Reboard the boat and cruise along the American Channel as the guide continues describing the mansions and houses on shore. Once you pass under the American span of the Thousand Islands Bridge, the enchanting Rock Island Lighthouse comes into view, topping off a lovely day on the water in upstate New York. Awesome Cruise! The Captain was confident and knowledgable and the tour guide was fully engaged with the passengers and was a great storyteller. The weather was perfect as well. Hints: Arrive at least 15 minutes before boarding time at both ends of the tour sit in the middle to the rear of the boat for best views and hearing the guide wear sunscreen bring a windbreaker and have fun!

Tour Guide talked way to much. Four of us took the tour and we enjoyed the trip and the information on what we were seeing but would liked to have less personal information and thoughts.
