Get picked up from your Boston hotel in a mini-coach for a comfortable and relaxing 1.5-hour ride to Falmouth. Water, a light morning snack, and light commentary will be provided.
Once in Falmouth, you'll be dropped off at the Island Queen Dock where you'll board the passenger ferry. Your ferry ticket is included so you won't have to wait in line at the dock. Relax on a short 35-minute mini-cruise as you sail across the sparkling waters off the coast of Massachusetts.
You will arrive at the island of Martha's Vineyard around 9:30am. You will then have approximately six hours to explore Martha's Vineyard on your own. Your bus driver will be happy to provide you with more information and maps of the area should you wish to book additional activities.
Upgrade to a 3-hour narrated island tour to get an initial overview of the island. On the tour you will have a 15-20-minute stop at the Gay Head cliffs in scenic Aquinnah, where the first lighthouse was built. Next, you'll pass through the beautiful historic village of Edgartown. Along the way, enjoy the commentary from your professional tour guides as they share their knowledge of the island's history and present-day events. You will then have approximately 2.5 hours to explore Martha’s Vineyard on your own.
Upon completion of your day on the Island, you will board the ferry which departs at 3:45pm for a relaxing sail back to Falmouth, where the shuttle will be waiting to complete the final leg of your unforgettable day trip experience. The Martha's vineyard tour was excellent. We were picked up on time. The rides on bus and ferry were pleasant once we arrived we had the 3 hour island tour which was fantastic. Our driver was very knowledgeable and gave us plenty of time to explore on our own. He even stopped longer at the fish market so we could buy and eat fresh seafood. It was a wonderful tour day. I highly recommended it!!

Relaxing and informative trip! We enjoyed beautiful fall foliage and scenery and the tour guides were great with the history!

Both the shuttle driver from the hotel to the ferry and back, as well as the local tour guide on the island, where great ! It was fun to listen to the many explanations, and seeing many really nice places.

Martha's Vineyard is a fun place to visit with interesting architecture, clean towns, good dining options and unique shops. This is a tour that lasted 12 hours, a very long, but fun day. We determined that we are more likely to book walking tours or 1/2 day bus tours next time around. This particular tour was on a 24 person bus which was good. Our driver was knowledgeable and funny, making our trip very pleasant. Be aware that in mid October, many shops have closed up for the season. Beautiful scenery to soak in, photos to take, and memories to keep!

Went on this trip on Saturday October 6th. It was a nice drive down in the mini-bus and took less time than expected. We arrived at the ferry in plenty of time. Enjoyed the boat ride over to the island. We had also booked the additional guided tour of the island. Our tour guide Anthony was great. He was very friendly and informative with a little humor thrown in. It was our first visit to Martha's Vineyard, so it was good to get an overall view of all there is to offer there. We still had plenty of time to eat and explore on our own before boarding the ferry for the return trip. Would definitely recommend this tour.

The trip was great. It was a long day but well worth it. Took a bus ride to catch the ferry and off to the island. We took the tour on the island, bus driver was okay did not let you get some of the pictures because the bus was moving too fast to take them. Had a nice lunch there. We headed back across the ferry to meet up with our bus driver, not her fault but we hit alot of traffic coming back partially from the Red Sox game.

Gorgeous whirlwind tour of all the high points without having to negotiate the ins and outs of getting there and around the Vinyard.

The tour guide on the island had an accent and was hard to understand. More guidance was needed for things to see during our free time. The bus ride to the ferry was pleasant, and water and snacks were appreciated.

I am literally writing this review on the way home from this tour. My complaint is NOT in regard to the hotel pick up, the shuttle to and from, nor the ferry ride. All of these aspects were handles well and the bright spot... BUT... This regards the added 3 hour island tour. It was such a disappointment in many ways. Once we got off the ferry, the pickup was right there. The van was full with 10 customers and our driver Betsy. AC in van was either max or nothing as switch was broken and door rattled constantly but we can get over that as we are on the Vineyard for our first time. The narrative was our driver pointing out cows and the dump and each school and store and facts about chickens and where to buy liquor. Monotone and uninspiring, to say least. No history or context or anything as we rushed by interesting houses and lookouts at 40 mph. 15 minutes to see a lighthouse and cliffs, 45 minutes in Edgartown, which easily needed atleast 90, then back to Oak Bluff and out! It was not an enjoyable experience. Yes, if you want to drive down the interior roads and look at driveways at 40mph, do so. If you want to hear nothing about Marthas Vineyard in a stuffy van and literally see nothing worth the price you paid for this award winning tour, please do so. Do yourself a favor and book with someone else. I just wish someone had written an honest review like this before I booked. Very disappointed for our one and only trip to Marthas Vineyard.
