The chocolate tour was a lot of fun! I definitely recommend it.

It was horrible. Extremely disappointing and overpriced. This was the second tour we went on. I had expected this one to be at least as awesome as the last one three years ago (which was in Cambridge, possibly with the same tour company - I don't recall). Reasons for the one star rating:
The first hour was spent talking in a vestibule, introducing ourselves. BORING and big waste of time!
The chocolate samplings were minimal, not generous in quantity at any of the stores, and not particularly noteworthy in taste or presentation.
One of the stops on this cold blustery day was Ben and Jerry's. The ice cream they gave us (the flavor was not revealed nor was it noteworthy) was crystalized, the manager who was supposed to tell us about the ice cream did not bother to show, and there were not enough seats for most of us.
At another location, we were required to stand outside in frigid temps while we were given a small piece of chocolate that was prepackaged, Halloween style. We were then told we could go into the store (AJ Burdick) to purchase whatever we wanted. Talk about adding insult to injury. At that shop's Cambridge location at the last tour we were at least provided some hot cocoa (which we then purchased because it was so delish).
The number of people on the tour was too high, and more than once enough samples were not initially provided. ( The total number of participants was 24 I believe)
We showed up for the tour at Hotel Chocolat, on Newbury, as told. This location was confirmed the day before the tour. Guess what? The Hotel Chocolat closed 10 weeks ago. No one and nothing were there. I called the local number on the form. No answer...I called the 800 number and spoke with a rude CSR, who eventually told me the tour began at Flour Bakery. This was a Fiasco, to now find the actual starting location, due to no fault of ours. This may have ben Viator's fault - IDK. I could go on and on w/ the complaints!

I had thought that tour was about chocolate’s being made in small shops and there being a history to chocolate in the area. The tour and guide were good but I would have loved to have more of the history and why there was a chocolate tour in this area. There was only one stop that had that link, all other stops were just shops and restaurants that sold chocolates or chocolate desserts. It was a chocolate overload and we did enjoy consuming all of that chocolate.

A very pleasant way to spend my Sunday afternoon, the tour guide was very friendly and informative, though I did discover that I'm not the chocaholic I thought I was - counldn't eat anymore chocolate by the end.

Fabulous tour - chocolate coma - fantastic facts learned about chocolate - and even a stop to find out about cocoa butter and its uses.
Tour guide was exceptional in her knowledge of chocolate. She made the walking tour interesting and exciting. She was full of enthusiasm and spirit.

We stopped at seven distinct places to sample chocolates, tour was better than expected. Tour guide joanne was really fun.

it was a pleasant way to spend a Sunday afternoon in a smart area of city, together with a little walking to walk off some of the free samples. It is clear that a lot of thought had gone into the content, as there was a distinct difference in all the places visited. The guide was knowledgeable about chocolate as were most of the venues visited en route.

I won't spoil the surprise, but they defiinitely saved the best 'til last!

The group of 14 (12 women, 2 men including myself) was big enough but not too big. I bought the tour as a surprise for my girlfriend and she loved it!
