產品介紹
Begin your 8-hour, small group Saturday adventure by visiting two of the best farmers’ markets on the Big Island. Your first stop includes a delicious breakfast with the freshest ingredients by a local vendor. You’ll discover incredible premium products from our community of farmers. You can’t beat the prices and the selections. Not only will you find fresh, locally grown fruits and vegetables used in Hawai‘i Regional Cuisine, you’ll be able to taste the eclectic prepared foods of the many different ethnic groups. In addition to the food, you’ll find unique items created by local artists and craftspeople.
Be ready to “talk story” with the folks behind the tables. Many vendors will offer free samples. You may be able to sip some fresh roasted coffee, sample macadamia nuts, taste locally grown strawberry fruit jelly and more. Fruit sellers may offer a slice mango or papaya or show you how to eat a juicy lychee. And the tropical flowers… get some for your room!
After the first two farmers’ markets, enjoy a a 20-mile peaceful, serene drive that will take you up Highway 250. Witness spectacular coastline views, dramatically changing landscapes, majestically tree-lined stretches and sprawling cattle and sheep ranches.
The next stop will be the third farmers’ market and Hawi town. You will have the opportunity to browse North Kohala’s biggest little town. After Hawi town, you’ll proceed to the town of Kapa’au off Highway 270. There stands the original Kamehameha Statue. Cast in brass and vibrantly painted with lifelike colors, King Kamehameha was credited with unifying the Hawaiian Islands. Next, the group will drive to the end of the road where you will find yourself at the Pololu Valley Lookout. This is one of the most spectacular panoramic views you will witness on Hawai′i Island.
You will now go nuts at the next stop as you visit the Hamakua Macadamia Nut Factory. Enjoy endless free samples of the macadamia nut candy and many flavors of macadamia nuts.
Your final stop on tour is the Puukohola Heiau National Historic Site. Puukohola Heiau meaning “Temple on the Hill of the Whale” was built entirely by hand with no mortar, in less than a year. Discover how the red stones were transported by a human chain about 14 miles long, from Pololu Valley. From the moment you arrive at Pu’ukohola Heiau National Historic Site, you quickly realize the significance of this unique place. Your guide will share with you the historical importance of King Kamehameha I and this great temple as you walk the grounds.行程概要出發地點
