The original evening volcano adventure and still the best! From lava tubes and waterfalls to the current eruption glow and activity this adventure has it all. Start with a drive through quaint Hilo town where you’ll drive along the historic waterfront before turning off the highway and onto the 4 mile Onomea Scenic Route for some of the very best scenery in Hawaii. The drive is punctuated with waterfalls, springs, streams and stunning tropical gardens. The adventure continues at Akaka Falls State Park, the site of the largest easily accessible waterfall on the island. You’ll traverse a paved walking path right through the center of a lush rainforest to Akaka Falls, a stunning 442 foot waterfall that plunges down a sheer cliff and into the water below. Head back down the Hamakua Coast before arriving at Rainbow Falls. This iconic waterfall features an 80 foot tall twin waterfall system. Look for the rainbow effect that gives the waterfall its name! Explore Kaumana Caves, part of the lava tube system that brought lava 1.5 miles from Hilo-town in 1881. Take a peek inside the dramatic cathedral-like space, and then it’s on to the famous Volcano Winery, the southernmost winery in the United States. You’ll sample up to eight different types of wines, varying from sweet to dry, and all with a unique Hawaiian flare. The Volcano Winery also has estate grown teas to taste and soft drinks and water are also included. After sampling beverages, you’ll enjoy a hearty Hawaiian-style BBQ lunch with a complimentary glass of your choice of Volcano Winery wine or other beverage. Complete the day viewing the glow and activity from the current volcanic eruption if it’s available from a safe distance before returning.行程概要出發地點

We had an excellent time on our tour with Spencer. He was a wealth of knowledge and gave us so much information throughout the entire tour. He is passionate about the island and exudes the Aloha spirit we have come to love when visiting the islands.

Great experience would recommend this tour. Guide was informative allowing extra time at some spots. The volcano crater looked great at nights unfortunately it was raining but this did not spoil the view.

This was a great trip - well worth it. Our guide was excellent, she made the trip for us. The places we visited first before going up to the viewing platform for the Volcano were amazing - the lava tubes, the garden that is forming on the cooled lava which had previously flowed down to the ocean, the steam rising on a field with orchids growing. We also were taken to a Winery and given a tasting of their very different wines with a BBQ type meal and a glass of wine of our choice to follow, which was excellent. We were also shown round the Winery, then it was off to view the Volcano from a platform. On arrival, it was foggy but as we were due to leave it cleared and we were able to see the fire arising from the Volcano and spitting up molten lava. It was some distance away and the only thing I would change is, it would be great to be a bit closer and see the lava flowing.

Jessica was amazing, informative and humorous. This trip was very informative. We appreciate the snacks, the thoughtfulness of the wet towels, the dinner as well as seeing a live volcano. I even had a orchid to Pele and apparently it worked as the volcano spurted while we were watching! We had a small and friendly group. It was 6 hours but the day went fast, yet they got us back in time knowing we had to drive back to Kona.

The tour was amazing! Our guide, Campbell, was knowledgeable and had a great sense of humor! He tailored the tour to us and never rushed us. The volcano crater at night was unbelievable! Highly recommend this tour!

Fabulous. I have made similar trips before and this was the first time we actually saw the glow and some lava activity. Visit to the Volcano winery was a wonderful wine tasting and dinner experience.

Great experience. Our guide, Levi, was wonderful. While traveling from place to place, he shared so much information about Hawaiian history and folklore. I was very impressed because he is not a native Hawaiian. He was an excellent driver a day very pleasant to be with. I really enjoyed the meal at the winery. I would have liked to spend more time at the museum. Definitely worth going back.
