The tour departs the Kailua Pier in downtown Kailua-Kona around 1 p.m. (please arrive 30-minutes early for check-in). There, you'll board a 65-foot luxury catamaran for a two-and-a-half hour humpback whale watching cruise ─sightings are guaranteed or you can go again free!
Hawai’i is the only state in the nation where humpback whales breed, calve and nurse their young. Every year between December and April, over 10,000 humpback whales migrate over 3,500 miles from the Pacific Northwest. If you are visiting Kona between mid-December and early-April, don’t miss out on the chance to observe and experience these magnificent creatures in their natural environment; the incredibly clear and pristine Hawaiian waters.
Marine-life naturalist guides will astound you with facts and an informative narrative on all the exciting behaviors you’ll witness. Humpback whales are the nosiest and most imaginative of the singing whales. Listen in through the hydrophone to hear this phenomenon through the speakers on the boat. You may also see sperm whales, false killer whales, pilot whales, and dolphins, along with many other playful and curious sea creatures ─ a day you’ll never forget!
The boat’s main lower deck features a large shaded cabin with cushioned seating, tables, a premium bar, and three restrooms. The vessel also has a spacious upper sun deck with a Bimini top for shade, cushioned seating, tables, and offers an excellent vantage point to get amazing views of all the action. This boat is 100% wheelchair friendly. Light snacks, island juices, sodas, Kona coffee, assorted teas, hot chocolate and a premium cash bar are included. This was a really fun trip! The naturalist, Denver, provided us with a lot of information about whales, and did a great job of answering our questions. We did see a couple of whales! They put on a really nice show! I would highly recommend the Body Gloce excursion. The whole crew was pleasant and fun!
