On your way to Catalina Island from Anaheim take note of the crystal clear waters and spectacular views that surround you. Your ferry will take you to the city of Avalon, one of the most visited tourist destinations on Catalina Island. The trip to Avalon takes about an hour. In Avalon, you will have the option to do as you please with endless possibilities.
You can dine at one of many casual or fine dining restaurants or go shopping at specialty and boutique shops which offer everything from resort-style clothing to gift items.
You will have a chance to enjoy the waters with aquatic activities such as snorkeling, kayaking or scuba diving. For a laid back atmosphere, take a bike ride or stroll through the streets of Avalon and see sites of the city.
Or you can visit Avalon’s beachfront which features a variety of shops and restaurants. Enjoy the scenery of Avalon's beaches while relaxing in convenient lounge chairs or secluded cabanas.
Round-trip ferry tickets and hotel pickup and drop-off is included from select Anaheim and Buena Park hotels.

Island was fantastic, we went parasailing and rented a golf cart to explore the island. We also enjoyed lunch on the green pier. We saw dolphins and whales each way on the ferry and flew over a pod of dolphins while parasailing.
A highlight was the fantastic bus driver Charles. He was enthusiastic, outgoing, energetic, and knowledgeable. He answered all of our questions before we even had the chance to ask and was truly a gem. The bus was early, clean, and comfortable.
Our one complaint is that the voucher for the ferry ride to the island did not have a reservation. So when we arrived we were told we had to wait an hour for the next boat. I called the tour operator from the terminal and was offered no solution, that it is just a voucher for a ticket. This was quite upsetting as it would have meant cutting down our already short time on the island. Luckily for us the man working at the ferry terminal was able to squeeze us on as stand by passengers so we made the right boat. We then reserved on the boat we needed to get back in time to get on the bus.
To anyone purchasing this tour I would recommend calling the operator ahead of time to see which ferries tou should reserve for yourself to ensure you can get on the boat.
To the operator I would suggest arranging a tour that would offer an overnight stay in Avalon.

Very disappointed in the time we got on the island, before we had to return to catch the bus, to return us to Anaheim. When I booked the trip, I was under the assumption that we had 8 hours on Catalina, but we barely had enough time to do the Culinary Walking Tour, and make it back to the boat.

The hotel we stayed was not in the pick-up list, so we ended up driving to the tour office in Anaheim. I was told to be there before 0800, so we arrived at 0730 (I am always on time). However, the office was not opened yet until 0800. It was okay to be early, but it was nice to tell us that we had to wait until the office opened first. In addition, the receptionist (old woman) did not have good customer service manner. It turned out that we did not leave Anaheim until 0830. It was almost 1200 noon when we arrived the island.
I wish we had more time on the island because we had to come back to the harbor by 1500. There was not many tour we could book within less than 4 hours, except the semi-submarine. The trip was nice but disappointed me because my family did not have enough time to enjoy the science beauty of Catalina, By the way, there is no beach as advertised.

Wonderful trip...didn't have any worries! The bus picked us up at the hotel, delivered us to the Ferry and was there to pick us back up when the Ferry returned. Loved the Island, as well!

Great trip! On Catalina Express trip over captain stopped so we could view a whale (!!) and on trip back saw a huge pod of dolphins leaping out of the water in the boat's wake. Those two things were worth the price of admission for me! The island is beautiful...with many views reminding me of something out of the movie Jurassic Park. We rented a golf cart to explore with ($80 for 2 hours with an additional one free if wanted...we used all 3 hours.). Make sure you have CASH or TRAVELER'S CHECKS for a deposit. They accept credit cards for the actual payment but want a cash or t-check for the deposit. This immediately put a damper on the trip because I carry very little cash...until a very, very nice woman asked me how much cashe I had and accepted a much lower amount as a deposit. I wound up letting her keep it as a Christmas Gift for being so nice and helping me out.Only down side to the trip is there wasn't enough time to see and do everything I would have liked to.

Catalina is a beautiful island and the 4-5 hours we spent there were wonderful. It was a long day and we expected to get back to the hotel shortly after dinner. In the morning our new, clean coach picked us up at our hotel and then picked up others at their hotel. We were dropped off at the marina and were picked up there in the late afternoon. We just assumed we would be taken back to Anaheim to our hotel but instead we were driven out to "Surf City??" which was 55 minutes in the opposite direction to pick up another party. When we got there, there was no one to be picked up (they had gone back by taxi, we guessed) so my friend and I were the only two people on the coach for almost three hours night driving in LA traffic. The bus driver was a dear and was just as annoyed as we were. Back at the hotel at 9:15 we had not eaten dinner yet, and did not get to eat, because the ONLY restaurant within walking distance had closed at 9:00. OK though, as the hotel sold nuts, chocolate bars and ice cream bars!! What I learned about booking tours is get all the information about travel times to and from the venues you choose to see. I try to remember the good about that day!!
